Scott Wedgewood was shelled in net for the Stars Saturday night, allowing five goals on 38 shots faced in a 5-4 overtime loss to the Hurricanes.

Wedgewood has been fairly solid despite limited work in the crease for the Stars, allowing less than three goals in three of his last five starts (2-1-2, .924 save percentage). The 30-year-old netminder is clearly behind No. 1 goaltender Jake Oettinger in Dallas, limiting his fantasy value at this point. Wedgewood carries a 3.03 GAA and .910 save percentage in 13 starts (6-4-3) between the pipes so far this season.

Wedgewood came up with some big saves to keep the Coyotes in this game, as his offense was not generating much with only six shots-on-goal through two periods. The goalkeeper definitely outperformed the home teams Filip Gustavsson though, who allowed four goals on 14 shots-faced. The Coyotes came away with a 5-3 victory.

The goalie logged a .930 save-percentage with three goals-allowed in the win. He moves to 10-13-3 with a .910 save-percentage and 3.16 goals-against-average.

Wedgewood has a 3-2 lead going into the third frame of play, giving up two goals in the first 5:34 of play to put the team down 4-3. An empty-net-goal sealed the deal and the team went on to lose 5-3.

The goalkeeper stopped 33-of-37 shots-on-goal for an .892 save-percentage, surrendering four goals before he was pulled for the extra attacker and an empty-net-goal found its way in to give the team a 5-3 defeat.

Wedgewood stood up to a barrage of Golden Knights shots, stopping 43 out of 44 and lifting the Coyotes to victory.

For the third time in five games the Arizona goalie made 35+ saves and is now 3-2-0 in his last five starts.

Wedgewood had a stellar performance in this one. He had to be on his A-game, as he was facing the high powered Colorado Avalanche, with Darcy Kuemper locked in on the opposite end. The Coyotes picked up the win with a 3-2 shootout victory and will look to keep riding high off of this big upset win.

Wedgewood stopped 38-of-40 shots-on-goal for a .950 save-percent. He held his own in this one, facing nearly double the shots (40) than Kuemper (24) had to face. He moves to 5-11-3 with a 3.22 goals-against average on the year and will look to carry this momentum over to hopefully get a win streak going into February. The Coyotes will host the Calgary Flames tomorrow on the second of a back-to-back.
