Red Wings goaltender Thomas Greiss struggled between the pipes Saturday, allowing four goals on 37 shots faced in the Red Wings' 4-0 loss to the Rangers.
Greiss las losses in four of his last five starts in net for Detroit, allowing 13 goals in that span. The veteran netminder has a disappointing 3.58 goals against average and .892 save percentage in 29 games in net this season (9-14-1).
Thomas Greiss stopped 32 of 33 shots against to help the Red Wings beat the Jets 3-1 and win back to back games for the first time since beating the Flyers in their first two games after the all-star break.
Greiss improves to 9-12-1 with a 3.76 goals against average and .890 save percentage. This was a great game from the veteran netminder who is having one of his worst seasons in the GAA and SV% categories. He's not worth a spot on your fantasy team.
Thomas Greiss was unable to last more than five minutes in Detroit's 7-5 loss to the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday night. He saved three of six shots for a .500 save percentage.
The good news is if you started him, the shots against is low so it's possible to salvage save percentage throughout the week. Devin Shore, Connor McDavid and Zach Hyman blasted him early and netted goals within two minutes and 36 seconds of each other. The showing was enough for him to get the hook and hand over the crease to Alex Nedeljkovic. Neither Detroit goalie is worth starting as the downside to damaging goalie stat's looms high right now. Even in good matchups, buyer beware.
Thomas Greiss backstopped his Detroit Red Wings to a 4-2 victory over the visiting Philadelphia Flyers. He stopped 32 of the 34 shots he faced posting a .941 save percentage.
Keith Yandle scored his first of the season on the power play and Scott Laughton scored after a point shot was able to sneak one through his blocking arm that was batted in. Other than that he performed well and helped Detroit sweep the home-and-home series. Through 16 starts this season he's rocking a 7-7-0-1 record with a 3.27 GAA and .898 save percentage. He shouldn't really be used to stream unless it's a cake matchup or you need a goalie start.
Red Wings goaltender Thomas Greiss was solid in net Friday night, stopping 24 of 26 shots faced in a 3-1 loss to the Capitals.
Greiss has been anything but good between the pipes for Detroit this season with a 3.52 goals against average and .893 save percentage prior to his turn in net on Friday against the Capitals.
