Urho Vaakanainen added his first point of the year, an assist, in Friday's 6-1 loss to the Predators.

Vaakainanen recenty returned from an injury, and this was arguably his best game of the season. The former first-rounder still offers some upside, but as a depth defenceman on a rebuilding Ducks squad, it is hard to see him being relevant this season. The path to playing time is wide open though, so he will get the opportunity to produce if he performs well. At this time, he is a ways away from being relevant in even the deepest of leagues.

Uhro Vaakanainen provided the secondary assist on Craig Smith's second period goal during Boston's 7-2 loss to the Islanders Thursday.

Vaakanainen has played in only two games so far this season and both times he has managed to find the stat sheet. He has a minus-one rating in this span as well.

Urho Vaakanainen skated for the first time on Wednesday since his concussion back on October 23rd against the Senators.

Vaakaninen is certainly not out of the woods yet, as fantasy players and the Bruins will have to wait and see when he can resume contact in practice. There is no return date set, but the young high-end prospect being back on the ice is the first positive news over the past few weeks.
