Sam Girard scored the second of seven goals the Avalanche hung on the Arizona Coyotes in their series-winning victory on Wednesday. Girard finished the game with a goal a plus-1 rating, a shot, two hits and a block.

Fantasy Impact: It took Girard three years to pot on in the post season in his young career but he did so in solid fashion as he blasted a puck right through Darcy Kuemper for his first of the 2020 post season. The Avalanche defeated the Coyotes in five games and will face a much stiffer challenge with the Golden Knights.

Philipp Grubauer was the winning goalie in Wednesday's elimination of the Arizona Coyotes. He stopped 23 of the 24 shots he faced.

Fantasy Impact: Grubauer won all four games he started in this series. Allowing only four goals on 82 shots. He was beat late in the game by a point-shot tip in from Clayton Keller which he just missed with his stick. It's fair to say that the Golden Knights will be a much stiffer test for Grubauer, but he has remained healthy, is playing well and will get some deserved rest while the remaining teams finish their series. The Avalanche move to the second round for the second year in a row.

Nathan Mackinnon helped himself to four points in Wednesday's elimination of the seventh seeded Arizona Coyotes. He finished the game with two goals, two assists, a plus-2 rating and six shots.

Fantasy Impact: Mackinnon was up to his usual by making/setting up plays and demanding coverage from the defense which allows the rest of his line to get well open. If there wasn't a break on the score clock, you'd think he scored once and got two goals as both his tallies were from the same spot 58 seconds apart. That is the fastest two goals by one player in Avs history. The four point night also tied Claude Lemieux's four point game back in 1997. It's also worth mentioning that he has points in eight post season games which ties Peter Forsberg and Milan Hejduk from 2000-01. He reminds us why he's a Hart Trophy finalist whenever he hits the ice. He's up to four goals and 13 points. That'll do.

Nazem Kadri had two goals in Colorado's series winning 7-1 victory over the Arizona Coyotes on Wednesday.

Fantasy Impact: Kadri's first goal came on the power play as he is capitalizing on every opportunity he gets on the PP1 with Nathan Mackinnon and Gabriel Landeskog. Kadri is the first Avalanche player to score five man-advantage goals in a playoff year since Joe Sakic in 2001. A crisp tic, tac, toe and the puck was in on Kadri's first of the night from the aforementioned line. His second was came on a break away where he put a nifty move on Darcy Kuemper to open him up and slid it through the five hole. He's up to an impressive six goals and 11 points in the 2020 playoffs.

Goligoski is rumored to have stayed at Rogers Place after the game to find his jock because he got undressed. Makar continued on towards the goal and slotted it through Kumper's 7-hole for the fifth of the game. It's plays like this that set him apart from the other Calder Trophy finalists. Tyson Jost scored in Colorado's 3-2 playoff victory over the Arizona Coyotes on Friday. He tallied a goal, a plus-1 rating, three shots, a hit and a block.

Fantasy Impact: "Jost with the Most", as Colorado's announcer put it, was planted in front of Darcy Kuemper and saw an incoming shot from Cale Makar which was going wide, he was able to get some lumber on it and redirected it through the seven hole for his first of the 2020 post season. It's good for the Avs and Avs' fans a like to see their 2016 first round pick producing when they need him to.

J.T. Compher scored his second goal of the 2020 post season which put the Avalanche up by two vs. the Arizona Coyotes on Tuesday.

Either way he got the puck over the line for his first of the 2020 post season. He's up to a goal and two points.

Pavel Francouz was the winning goalie in Wednesday night's 4-0 victory over the Dallas Stars, moving Colorado to 2-0 in the 2020 post-season.

Fantasy Impact: Francouz stopped all 27 shots sent his way and has reminded everyone that Grubauer is well supported if he's needed. Michael Hutchinson was the winning goalie on Monday night, backstopping the Avalanche to a 2-1 victory over the Detroit Red Wings. He stopped 17 of 18 shots.

Fantasy Impact: Hutch didn't have an overly busy evening while seeing sub-20 SOG but he made the saves when he had to and included a nice pad-save on a break away by Anthony Mantha. He got the win for his new team while newly-signed Pavel Francouz got the night off. The Avalanche set a franchise record for eight straight road wins. Bellemare produced the first goal of the game in Colorado's 3-2 road win over the Minnesota Wild on Sunday. The goal came on the penalty kill and he finished the game with one point, a plus-1 rating, two shots, one hit and one block.

Fantasy Impact: Bob Mackenzie of TSN commented in game saying, "That goal had a whole lot of odor on it". Yes. Yes it did. Bellemare had taken a lead pass from Matt Calvert and simply went to the top of the circle, fired a slap shot and went right through Dubnyk. You could hear the crowd's collective gasp as it leaked over the line. No matter, Bellemare will take his 8th of the season regardless of how it goes in. He has 20 points so far this season with his new team.
