Joe Girardi scheduled him for three innings tomorrow and five innings on Sunday. Jeter singled in his first at-bat back.'Running was good, defense was good,' Jeter said. 'You don't need your calf hitting. I'm not stealing bases right now. It's the same as when I came back last summer. You still have to be smart with it.'

“Old Balls Derek Jeter wasn't on my fantasy team ever in his prime, why would I put him there now. I really should have him ranked lower. The reason for Jeter being higher is because his peripherals are so steady, that his basement level season isn’t far off from his ceiling. Last year is about what I would expect from the 38 year old. He's a .290, 8 homer, 80 Run, 15 SB guy. Not bad, not great, but he doesn't come with the .240 downside some of the guys behind him do.”

“Speaking of names, Derek Jeter turns 38 this year. That said, he can still hit .300, and has only had fewer than 600 PA one season in his career (542 in 2003).”

“It appears the train has passed for Derek Jeter. He is 37 years old, coming off a season where he only hit 6 HRs to go along with 16 SBs in only 131 games. The good news for Jeter however is that in the Yankee lineup he will be presented with plenty of RBI chances. If he can bat .297 like he did a season ago, 70 RBIs are easily in reach for the future hall of famer. He was also score a lot of runs.”
