Top 5 highest drafted players projections. Seeing that the season is here and the top five players are almost consensus top five players, I decided to combine the top 5 into one post. Jose Bautista has 97 home runs in the last two seasons. That is 18 more than the next best player in baseball (Albert Pujols). He retains third base eligibility in most leagues this season and he added batting average...

“Prince Fielder will be fun to watch in Detroit. Perhaps he's going to a slightly less potent offense. Maybe being surrounded by less speed will hurt his RBI numbers. Maybe moving to a stadium that is less friendly to LHB will hurt his power. But really, who cares? Fielder has proven that he doesn't need protection in the lineup. He's mashed every single year of his career. He's not exactly known for hitting cheap HR either, so how much will a deeper RF really hurt him? Fielder will play every day, making daily lineups as easy as the Ronco Rotisserie. Take Fielder with confidence that he will earn every penny of his $24 Million in 2012.”

“Look for Fielder to increase his overall production by batting cleanup for Detroit, behind Miguel Cabrera. Improved strikeout rate, from 19.3 percent in 2010 to 15.3 percent last season, but Comerica Park unfriendly to left handed power hitters.”

“In fantasy football we used to have big fat Lendale White. Then we went to big, fat Legarrette Blount. Well, in baseball, we have big, fat Prince Fielder, but he's better than both of those guys, respectively. So essentially, It took me an idiotic way to call him big and fat. As big and fat as he is, don't call him Cecil, because Prince is a much more polished hitter than his homer-hitting father. For a power guy, Prince is a lock for .285, but I think he can push .300 like he did a year ago. It won't hurt to be hitting behind Miggy, as teams may be forced to pitch to him. The power numbers may drop in Detroit a bit, but what's the fall off, from 40 to 38 ? Big deal. This guy can mash in any park. Look for another huge year.”

“Prince is going to have a similar situation to what Adrian Gonzalez went through last season. He goes from the NL to the AL, and everyone is expecting immediate numbers. While he should still produce, he still will have that pressure on him that a lot of people do not handle well. I am still expecting 36 HRs, and 110 RBIs, but I am also expecting some bumps along the way.”
