Now assuming you’re still in it (why else would you be reading this), or you simply like to mess with your league-mates and make irrelevant waiver claims, we’ve taken the time to compile waiver wire rankings from experts, starting with the names featured below.

Based on general availability, recent performances and injury-related bumps in playing time, we’ve put together a list of players that should be on your radar. Keep reading for quick-hitting analysis on the rankings as well as what readily-available defenses you should consider streaming. Also, there may not have been any teams on BYE in Week 12, but keep in mind that there are two teams that get this week off.

Q1. Give us your thoughts on a waiver wire target (or two) you especially like as a pickup.

“If you are a more conservative fantasy owner and looking for a spot-starter next week then go for Anquan Boldin who plays the Saints next week. He will give you roughly seven catches, 60 yards, and a potential TD. Another player to keep a close eye on is Denard Robinson; the injuries to Chris Ivory and T.J. Yeldon give Denard another chance to shine. He has the ability to be a solid PPR league player with TD upside production, but the problem is that he goes against Denver next week who can shut him down, so if Ivory and Yeldon miss multiple weeks then Denard will be the RB to own.”

Colin Kaepernick has now delivered 4 straight top-10 fantasy finishes against varying defenses, producing with both his arm and his legs. A schedule that finishes with the Bears, Jets, Falcons and Rams makes him look starter-worthy through the rest of most fantasy seasons. Lions WR Anquan Boldin, on the other hand, isn’t an every-week play, but a Week 13 trip to New Orleans carries big upside for a guy who has drawn 9 targets in 2 straight games and scored in 4 of his past 6. Then comes another attractive matchup with the Bears.”
Matt Schauf (Draft Sharks)

“The pickings are slim this time of year but if you’re going to target one player, I’d go after Baltimore Ravens RB Kenneth Dixon. The Ravens really kept him involved this past week and he’s been bubbling below the surface for most of the season. If he’s unavailable or you want to get the jump on your opponents, go after Charles Sims. He’s one of the best all-around backs in the league when healthy and he could return soon.”
Matt De Lima (ScoutFantasy)

“My top short-term targets for the Week 13 waiver wire would be Dontrelle Inman and Vernon Davis (where C.J. Fiedorowicz wasn’t available) and Anquan Boldin. Both Dontrelle and Vernon’s position peers suffered injuries in Week 12, and Anquan is on the road in New Orleans in a potential shootout. For the rest of the season, I would look at Kenneth Dixon because his workload is now identical to Terrance West’s, but it figures to tilt towards the rookie Dixon the rest of the way. Additionally, Cam Newton owners need to give a serious look at Colin Kaepernick, who is putting up some crazy fantasy QB points.”

Dontrelle Inman has 348 receiving yards over his previous five games and that has come behind the likes of Williams and Benjamin. Now that both are banged up, he is the go-to weapon for Philip Rivers, who is going to get his yards no matter what. With Tampa, Carolina, Oakland and Cleveland coming up for the rest of your fantasy championship push, there is reason to believe he might be just the wide receiver you need to put you over the edge.”

Q2. For owners renting a D/ST in Week 13, what readily available option should they target and why?

“The San Diego Chargers trail only Kansas City in takeaways for the season (24-23) and have forced at least 1 turnover in every game. They’ve pumped up that total with 3+ takeaways in 3 of their past 4 games. Now comes a Bucs team that has produced the 10th most giveaways, including 5 games of 2+. Tampa Bay also enters this week off 2 straight games of fewer than 20 points and 3 games of 3+ sacks allowed among the past four. San Diego’s season sack numbers don’t look great, but the 9 QB hits vs. Houston on Sunday reveals some hidden pass-rushing upside.”
Matt Schauf (Draft Sharks)

“The easy answer to this question is found in who faces Brock Osweiler, and that is the Green Bay Packers who could be in a season-saving spot next week trying to stay close to Detroit and Minnesota in the division.”
Scott Whitfield (Roto Rankings)

Dallas is going to be playing Minnesota next week and the Vikings offense hasn’t exactly been lighting it up which makes Dallas a safe choice. If you are looking for a defense with a bit more upside then look at Green Bay who is going up against Houston who gave up three interceptions this last week.”
James Hatfield (Hatty Waiver Wire Guru)

“The Arizona Cardinals’ offense just don’t look right to me lately. Therefore, I’m targeting Washington to handle them in Week 13. The Redskins should available in most every league format and while the Skins didn’t really limit Dallas on Thanksgiving last week, I think Washington has a lot more to play for in what I feel should be a very winnable game for them. Arizona has also allowed the third-most sacks and thrown the second-most INTs in the NFL so this matchup is sneaky good.”
Matt De Lima (ScoutFantasy)

“I’m fond of the New York Jets‘ defense this weekend against Indianapolis, with or without Andrew Luck. The Colts’ pass blocking is perhaps the worst in football and the Jets have some serious talent on their defensive line that can get after the quarterback. Even if they do give up 20+ points, expect five or more sacks to go along with multiple turnovers which should do the trick for your fantasy team.”
