Any matchup against the 49ers is a good one for RBs and that’s why you should consider Jordan Howard
We are now heading into Week 13 of our Daily Fantasy Accuracy Cup (DFAC) and if you haven’t had a chance to follow along, the experts have been keeping the contest close while also providing great advice. Last week, the top experts had suggested using Drew Brees, Michael Thomas, David Johnson, Julian Edelman, and Melvin Gordon. Those picks would have certainly put you in a position to do well in some contests.
The top finishers from last week are back to provide more picks for the weekend as they solidify their place in the contest with four weeks left.
In case you’re not familiar, we have been hosting our annual DFAC for four years now. Each week, experts from all over the industry compete against one another in a game hosted by our friends at FanDuel.
As a benefit to you, we ask the top finishers to give us their favorite plays for the weekend. Find out below who the experts like as their top DFS play for Sunday’s main slate.

Jordan Howard (RB – CHI): $7,400 vs. SF
“There are some NFL defenses that start off the season strong and play poorly down the stretch and there are other NFL defenses that start off the season poorly and become stronger over the course of the season. The San Francisco 49ers are not either of those teams; they have been horrible the entire season, especially against running backs. The 49ers have allowed the most points to running backs this season, over the last five weeks they have also allowed the most points, and over the last three weeks, they have allowed the fourth most points. According to FantasyPros.com, Chicago Bears RB Jordan Howard is the 10th ranked running back in fantasy football since Week 4. In my opinion, Howard is a slam-dunk RB1 this week and he is costing only $7,400 at FanDuel in Week 13 against the 49ers. I would make sure he is in every FanDuel lineup of mine this week.”

David Johnson (RB – ARI): $9,200 vs. WAS
“I will be playing in a number of DFAC leagues this weekend and the one player I will start in all leagues is David Johnson. He is averaging 23 points per game and that type of consistency is worth the salary. I am making up my salary with a cheap WR like a Taylor Gabriel or Dorial Green-Beckham.”
– James Hatfield (Hatty Waiver Wire Guru)
Antonio Brown (WR – PIT): $9,000 vs. NYG
“This week is shaping itself into a stars and scrubs type of week. The problem is that there are a plethora of stars in excellent matchups (David Johnson, Le’Veon Bell, Drew Brees, Julio Jones, Mike Evans, Odell Beckham Jr., etc.). The one player that I will be focusing on is WR Antonio Brown as he is averaging a ridiculous 22.3 FanDuel points per game since the start of 2014, with 22 touchdowns in 21 games at home. The Steelers are projected for 27.25 points and have scored 75% of their red zone chances via the pass, which makes Brown a great bet to score a touchdown or two this week.”
– Philip Double (Daily Fantasy Bootcamp)
Julio Jones (WR – ATL): $8,300 vs. KC
“After a disappointing 4-35-0 performance last week, many people will be avoiding Julio Jones as the fourth-most expensive wide receiver this week. But with the tight end position, all but a disaster, I’m going to find a way to squeeze Jones into my lineups across the board. In each of the three prior games this season in which Jones was held under 60 yards, he rebounded in a huge way the following week, averaging 10 catches and 183 yards the following game. The matchup is also tremendous for Jones, who will face a Kansas City Chiefs secondary that is allowing the second-most fantasy points per game to opposing wideouts. Expect Kyle Shanahan to get Jones away from CB Marcus Peters, who lines up on the left side of the field, by moving Jones into the slot and seeking more favorable matchups with struggling CB Phillip Ganes.”
– Jody Smith (Gridiron Experts)
LeGarrette Blount (RB – NE): $6,600 vs. LA
“My FanDuel lineups are very likely to include LeGarrette Blount. He is tied at 14th in RB salary at $6,600, but I have him ranked seventh among the backs available on the slate. With Gronkowski out and the Pats having a projected point total of 28.5, Blount has as much TD upside as anyone. I love him at this price.”
– John Halpin (FOX Sports)
Mohamed Sanu (WR – ATL): $5,700 vs. KC
“In FanDuel lineups where I need a low-cost WR, I am using Mohamed Sanu. In his last four games, Sanu is averaging 6.0 catches (6.8 targets) for 59.3 yards per game. Those are decent numbers, but it also includes a very weak result in Week 10 (2 catches for 14 yards). If I ignored that one bad game, he’d have 7.3 catches for 74.3 yards per game in the other three. I see the signs that Sanu is rising in the Atlanta pass game. Julio Jones is going to get Marcus Peters this week, so Sanu should be a great alternative again (like last week when Patrick Peterson shut down Julio). There’s one other X-factor – Sanu lined up in the wildcat last week, and he ran for the goal line, but was stopped just short. Sanu was a great wildcat runner-receiver in college and is 5-for-5 for 177 yards and 2 TDs as a passer in the NFL. Sanu is heating up as a receiver, but now the Falcons are starting to explore his other gifts – this could be a mild shock output from Sanu in Week 13.”
