Fantasy Football Week 8 Flex Favorites

Fantasy Football Week 8 Flex Favorites

If you’re reading this, then you are probably hoping for some flex advice. The idea behind this article to make those tricky flex debates a little easier. A flex player is a player not in the top 60 players according to FantasyPros Flex Week 8 Rankings in half-point PPR leagues as of Wednesday.

I decided to go with the no players in the top 60 to target 12-team leagues that start two running backs and three wide receivers (5 players x 12 teams = 60 players). The players below will only be running backs or wide receivers since these are the two most common positions that fill the flex spot. If you don’t have any of the players below or are facing your own flex lineup decisions and need some help, then ask me on Twitter @mitchellrenz365.

Tarik Cohen (RB – CHI) @NO
The Saints at home will score points, plenty of points, which means the Bears will need to keep up. Cohen hasn’t been getting as much work recently because the Bears haven’t needed him. In six games the Saints have given up 41 catches to running backs and Cohen will be worth a flex start in Week 8.

JuJu Smith-Schuster (WR – PIT) @DET
Juju is about to get a lot more playing time now that Martavis Bryant will be a healthy scratch. He has three touchdowns the last six weeks and is averaging about 39 receiving yards and three catches a game during that six-week span. The Steelers look to be rolling, and I think Juju is a big reason for that.

DeAndre Washington (RB – OAK) @BUF
Marshawn Lynch is suspended and with the pickings being quite slim at running back I think the starting running back for the Raiders is a good choice. I will say that maybe in a PPR league Richard is a better option. Washington last week had nine carries for 33 yards and a touchdown with three receptions for seven yards. Playing a running back with touchdown potential getting 12 touches during ByeZilla is worth a flex play.

Marquise Goodwin (WR – SF) @PHI
The Eagles have given up the most receptions to wide receivers in the NFL with 101. The big-play upside of Goodwin is intriguing because he only needs one catch to make your day and against an Eagles team who gives up the most catches I think that big play is possible. Also over the last three weeks, Goodwin has seen 24 targets. If he gets eight targets in this game he will be a solid flex start.

Bilal Powell (RB – NYJ) vs. ATL
Powell is a good running back and it’s frustrating at times that the Jets don’t give him more work. The Falcons are not good against running backs who can catch the ball. They are giving up the fourth-most fantasy points to running backs this season. Last week Powell had nine carries and averaged 4.8 yards per carry with two catches for 40 yards. If Powell can get an equal workload against the Falcons he should be a safe flex option with decent upside.

Hopefully, these players allow you to flex your fantasy flex muscles and bring you to a victory in a tough week. With a lot of byes, the player picking was slim, but I am confident that these flex players will bring you a win.
