DraftKings MLB Lineup Advice: Tuesday (4/23)

Woof! The pitching options on Tuesday night’s 13-game MLB slate are brutal. Pitchers you can usually trust have tough matchups such as Patrick Corbin pitching at Coors Field. While some are just overpriced given their matchup and upside such as Kenta Maeda. So, we are going to go with a couple risk/reward value options which will free up plenty of salary to spend on those big-time bats.

As always, be sure to pay close attention to the lineups when they are released and monitor the weather leading up to game time. For reference throughout the season, be sure to bookmark our overview of MLB Park Factors and how to Use Weather to Your Advantage in MLB DFS.

Zach Wheeler (NYM): $7,900 vs. PHI
After running my numbers for Tuesday’s slate, the name Zach Wheeler popped up at the top of my model. I found this somewhat alarming since he faces a good hitting Phillies team, but it just goes to show the lack of pitching on this slate. After digging a little deeper, I wouldn’t say I am comfortable with Wheeler, but he is a pitcher with probably the most upside on the slate. He is a small home favorite according to Vegas and the game has a pitcher-friendly umpire behind the plate. Wheeler has also held Bryce Harper and Rhys Hoskins in check during his career with a combined 6-for-37 (.162) with just one extra-base hit. Just to make sure I wasn’t insane for recommending Wheeler, I checked a couple of other projections systems out there and he also finished at or near the top. It is just the cards we are dealt for Tuesday night.
