Intro to Sleeper Fantasy Basketball Leagues

Sleeper is the quickest, easiest way to play fantasy basketball. There, I said it. How can I be so sure? I’m going to lay it all out for you below!

Game Pick

With Game Pick on Sleeper, owners choose one game per starter to count against their weekly point total. The days of losing because your opponent’s players simply had more scheduled games to play in that week are over. The days of mindless daily busy work are over. The days of giving up halfway through the season because of that busy work…also over. You get the idea.

In Game Pick, you pick one game per week for each player based on: Player Matchups, Home vs Away, Opponent’s Defensive Ranking, Pace of Play, and more.

Follow two simple steps, and you’re done. It couldn’t be more simple.

Step 1: Choose your starter

Step 2: Choose a single game for the week

And just like that… you’re done for the week. More strategy, less busy work, all of the excitement that fantasy hoops has to offer!

Why Sleeper is the Best

I’ve told you already that Sleeper is the best, but let’s compare it to traditional fantasy basketball so you get a true understanding of just how groundbreaking this platform and its gaming experience are.

  • Traditional fantasy basketball takes too much time: Traditional fantasy basketball is a 7-day-a-week responsibility.
    • On Sleeper it’s once-a-week. Pick one game, per player, per week. That’s it.
  • Number of games played wins weeks, NOT strategy: In traditional fantasy basketball, the more games your players play in a week, the better chance you have of winning.
    • On Sleeper, owners pick a single game per week for each starter to count towards their team’s total score, ensuring an even number of games played between opponents.
  • Unrealistic player performance: In 9-cat formats, a player could be an All-NBA caliber talent and dominant in every category but one, such as free-throw percentage. Because of that deficiency, that player is actually less valuable to a team (killing your FT%) than a role player.
    • Fantasy basketball on Sleeper is scored based on points per stat (i.e. 3 points for a block, 2 points for a three-pointer, etc). For you fantasy football players out there, this is the scoring system you know and love!

Sleeper cracked the fantasy basketball code, if you play fantasy football, if you prefer building out a weekly strategy versus daily busy work, you’re going to LOVE Game Pick. Download the Sleeper app today and start a Game Pick league of your own.
