Fantasy Baseball Players to Buy Low
Which one MLB player are you trying to buy low and why? Also, who are you willing to give up for him?
Aaron Judge (OF – NYY)
“The player that I am trying to buy low is Aaron Judge (NYY – OF). He’s just come off of the DL after missing the past 10 games. He’s underperformed to date, but I expect his power to resume, maybe not to 2022 standards, but high enough to carry your team higher in your league standings. I’m willing to give up any player on my team, especially any players that are off to a great start, but I don’t anticipate them continuing at this level.”

Josh Naylor (1B,OF – CLE)
“Josh Naylor is a player I am targeting as a perfect buy low candidate this week. The slugger continues to make solid contact as evidenced by a 79.0% contact rate so far this season. The 25-year-old will just need to hope for better luck with the hard contact hopefully translating into more power and run production moving forward for fantasy managers. I would be willing to give up an over-producing utility option to pry Naylor away from panicked fantasy managers.”

Christian Yelich (OF – MIL)
“I am looking to acquire Christian Yelich wherever possible. Yelich has a .244 batting average with four home runs and seven steals. Those numbers are more or less in line with his last two seasons and might not jump off the page. But he is still a top-20 fantasy outfielder to this point, and I think there is room for improvement. Yelich’s expected batting average is 40 points higher than his current number, and his expected slugging is higher than Mookie Betts‘. I am not suggesting he will be as good as Betts going forward, but he has top-50 overall upside in my estimation. If you have a surplus of infielders, I would look to trade a player like Willy Adames or Tim Anderson for Yelich.”
– Mick Ciallela (Fantrax)
Zack Wheeler (SP – PHI)
“I don’t want to give up on Zack Wheeler anytime soon. His 3-2 record and 4.26 ERA may make some nervous but his underlying numbers should display confidence. Wheeler possesses a 10.89 K/9 and a career-low 0.24 HR/9. His 3.57 xERA aligns with his career 3.45 ERA. His 28.8 Hard Hit% and 2.9 Barrel suggests positive regression is upcoming and I want to jump all in on Wheeler and buy low by selling high on any of the latest hot pickups.”
