Fantasy Basketball Rookie Draft Advice
Victor Wembanyama selected No. 1 by San Antonio Spurs
The San Antonio Spurs have selected C Victor Wembanyama with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.
Fantasy Impact
The 19-year-old from France will immediately impact a team without much competition for playing time. He is generally considered the favorite to lead all rookies in points, rebounds, and blocks in his first season. Given his sky-high ceiling, he should be the No. 1 pick in dynasty leagues.
Kelly Kirby
Scoot Henderson selected No. 3 by Portland Trail Blazers
The Portland Trail Blazers have selected Scoot Henderson with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.
Fantasy Impact
There were questions all offseason long who the Hornets would go with ahead of the Trail Blazers. They went with Brandon Miller, dropping Henderson to the Trail Blazers. The back court is quite crowded right now with Henderson joining Damian Lillard, Anfernee Simons and Shaedon Sharpe. The Trail Blazers simply went best player available here with Henderson and you can’t blame them.
Ari Koslow
Amen Thompson selected No. 4 by Houston Rockets
The Houston Rockets have selected G Amen Thompson with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.
Fantasy Impact
Thompson is a polarizing prospect because of his decision to not play college basketball and instead play with Overtime Elite. He’s considered to be one of most explosive athletes in this class, and the Rockets will pair him up with Kevin Porter Jr. and Jalen Green to form a dangerous young backcourt. He’s a ‘high-risk, high-reward’ type of player who will be in top-five conversations for dynasty drafts.
