NFL football is finally back. And yes, the preseason counts as real football. The news. The stories. The starters playing one series. The backups vying for roster spots. The veterans clinging to their football lives playing deep into games. The rookies getting their first taste of real action. It’s all so beautiful. And when it comes to preseason DFS, all of that stuff matters. As DBro says, “preseason DFS is gawd’s game.”
Preseason DFS may be for the true degens, but it’s also for those trying to cash in on soft lines from DFS sites. Packers vs. Bengals NFL Preseason DFS Picks
Green Bay Packers Targets
Sean Clifford would be considered an innings eater for this preseason game if this were baseball. He is a rookie quarterback who needs snaps to show the coaches what he can bring to the team while allowing their starting and backup quarterback to rest. Expect him to take plenty of the snaps in this game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Clifford is a superb pocket operator with great mechanics, quick release, and short-range velocity. You won’t hit a home run here, but you’ll have the safe floor to drive your total up in this slate.
Dontayvion Wicks reminds us of Travis Fulgham when he is on the field. He stands at 6’1 and weighs over 200 pounds, which is the marker we love to aim for in a wide receiver in DFS slates. This carbon copy of Fulgham could explode as Fulgham did years back, especially with these backups of the Bengals’ defensive squad playing during most of this game.
A highly-touted tight end heading into this draft, and Kraft has recently been making positive waves in camp. Musgrave is the starter, but the Green Bay Packers drafted this talented 6’5, 254-pound tight end who runs a 4.69. We love athletic tight ends, and there is no tight end playing in this game between the Packers and Bengals more athletic than Tucker Kraft.
Cincinnati Bengals Targets
No, we aren’t talking about Captain America. However, this Chris Evans reminds us of a solid NFL player, Damien Harris. Right now, he is buried in the depth charts, but with Joe Mixon not playing and Treyveon Williams dealing with an injury, this veteran should see some action. If Evans can give us the production we have seen in his doppelganger Damien Harris over the years, we could be set up for a beautiful night in DFS with this Walmart version of Captain America.
Andrei Iosivas didn’t just make a few superb plays in training camp. He has been stacking them up throughout the camp. He has been a surprise to most, but he looks like the future wide receiver for the Bengals when they move on from Tyler Boyd/ lose Tee Higgins. The Bengals organization will get this rookie more time and take advantage of his massive frame (6’3 and 212 lbs) against lesser talent.
