Fantasy Football Injury Outlook: Deshaun Watson, Luke Musgrave, Jalen Hurts (Week 8)

We survived yet another week in which most of the big names did not suffer any significant injuries. Guys like Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, and Austin Ekeler all suffered injuries but returned to their games with what appeared to be no limitations.

As always, this article is an estimate and educated guessing on injuries and timelines based on limited information. Monitor practice reports for the most solid information throughout the week. Here are all of my injury takeaways for the week. Below we dive into a few notable players.

Injuries To Know for Week 8 Waiver Wire

Deshaun Watson (QB – CLE)

This is a weird situation in which Watson took a big hit on Sunday that sent him to the concussion protocol. He cleared but did not re-enter the game.

It appeared that Watson injured his shoulder on the same play, and Coach Stefanski said he’s day to day and will remain the starter for the Browns. I expect that Watson will be able to play next week.

Luke Musgrave (TE – GB)

Musgrave took a huge hit Sunday. He appeared to suffer what looked like a low ankle sprain. This is speculation based on the mechanism of injury, so continue to monitor any updates the team gives on his status.

If my guess is correct, Musgrave will likely miss a week or two with this injury, making Doubs and Reed even stronger pickups.

Jalen Hurts (QB – PHI)

Hurts suffered what is likely a minor knee injury. He played through the injury and came back from halftime with a brace. It was reported that Hurts was one of the last players coming back from the locker room after the half, likely being evaluated and cleared. I expect that he is okay and will play next week.
