DraftKings Pick6 3/26/24
Season Record: 5-4
Trey Murphy (F – NOP): 17.5 points
Trey has struggled with his shot since Brandon Ingram was lost to injury, so there is seemingly little reason for this total to be posted at 17.5. He has taken at least 11 shots in both games since but has averaged just 11 points per game. Murphy has averaged just 10 points per game with Ingram sidelined this season, and while we all know he can catch fire on any given night, he remains relatively inconsistent when he is not filling in for Zion Williamson. Trey played just one game against Oklahoma City this season, managing just eight points in 28 minutes of action. Fade Trey and tap the Less for Tuesday night.
Pick: Less
CJ McCollum (G – NOP): 4.5 assists
McCollum has seen his usage rate rise with Brandon Ingram sidelined and has dished out seven assists in both games since Ingram went down with the knee injury. His assist totals were rising even before the injury, as CJ has recorded five or more assists in four of his last five games and seven or more in three of them. McCollum posted five and three assists in his two matchups against Oklahoma City this year and should hit at least five tonight, provided his teammates don’t go cold from the field. Mash the More on McCollum for Tuesday night basketball.
Pick: More
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (G – OKC): 1.5 steals
Chasing steals is not something one wants to make a habit of, but when one of the league’s elite is cooking in that category, you take notice. SGA leads the NBA with 2.1 steals per game and has had at least two swipes in five of his last six games. He had three and two steals in his two games against the New Orleans Pelicans this season and appears primed to make it three games with at least two thefts later tonight. SGA has failed to record a steal just eight times all season, so whether or not he gets on the board in the category is not as much of a concern as whether or not he will get multiple. Still, with both form and head-to-head data aligning, the probability lies with the More tonight. Slap the More on SGA for Tuesday night.
