49ers GM John Lynch said the team will “try to honor” Deebo Samuel’s trade request.

Samuel was granted permission to seek potential trade partners. If he is traded, San Francisco would eat $31.6 million in dead cap so the right offer would have to come its way. It seems likely that a fresh start is what Samuel needs coming off a down season.

The Saints have a decision to make this offseason with Carr. If they release him, it creates $21.5 million in dead cap. It sounds like that is a possibility if they are unable to trade him, which also isn’t likely.
