The NHL is back in action tonight, and the push for the postseason is officially underway. I’m heading the DFS route to get some skin in the game for tonight’s 12-game schedule.
Below you’ll find the nine-man roster I’m riding with. This lineup is playable in DraftKings’ classic $50,000 salary format, but I’ve also listed each player’s price at FanDuel’s $55,000 salary equivalent.

Tuesday’s NHL DFS Picks & Advice
The lineup below is based on DraftKings, but FanDuel prices are also listed.
Dylan Strome continues to light up the scoreboard this season, entering tonight’s action ranked 26th in the league in scoring (18 goals, 40 assists). He has already collected four points (two goals, two assists) out of the break while recording three shots on goal (SOG) in both games since the league’s return.
Strome is a mainstay on Washington’s first line and top power-play unit, and they draw a Calgary penalty kill that’s just 28th in the NHL (72.56%). Strome’s primed for another big night in the nation’s capital.
The Red Wings and Wild wrap up a home-and-home series in the Twin Cities tonight. Marco Rossi went for a goal, an assist and three SOG in Saturday’s 4-3 overtime win in Motown.
I’ll back the top-line centerman at his cheap $4,900 price tag on DraftKings. The Wings have been in shambles defensively, conceding at least four goals in each of their last four games. Detroit’s also dead last on the penalty kill (69.85%) this season, so look for Rossi to have an impact on the man advantage.
I have a pair of Hockey Club players in my lineup tonight, as they host the floundering Blackhawks. First, it’s Dylan Guenther, who leads Utah in goals scored (21) and ranks second in SOG (126).
The budding star draws a Chicago defense ranked 29th in GAA (3.19) and 26th in high-danger shots against (218). They’ve conceded at least four goals in eight out of their last 11 games, including giving up five goals in each of their first two games out of the break.
Philadelphia’s Matvei Michkov dominated the Oilers in the Flyers’ first game out of the break, going for a goal, two assists and four SOG in the 6-3 rout.
Michkov is up to 39 points (17 goals, 22 assists) and 119 SOG this season. Only Travis Konecny (22 goals, 40 assists) has more points than the budding Russian star on the Flyers. Philadelphia hosts a Penguins side that’s a joke defensively, ranking 31st in GAA (3.29) and 30th in SV% (.884).
The Stars are riding a three-game winning streak, where they’ve amassed 16 goals during the stretch. Third-line winger Evgenii Dadonov has had his hand in two of those goals (one goal, one assist) and he’s logged five SOG during the stretch.
Dadonov (16 goals, 16 assists) feels like a great depth option tonight in DFS, as he draws a decent matchup against a Columbus defense ranked 28th in GAA (3.14) and 26th in SV% (.888). They’ve conceded the eighth-most high-danger shots during 5-on-5 play (132), which is worth mentioning since Dadonov is mostly an even-strength player nowadays.

With Miro Heiskanen (lower-body) sidelined, it’s Thomas Harley’s time to shine in Dallas. The defenseman is already the team’s leading scorer (10 goals, 20 assists) from the blue line, and we should only expect the gap to widen now that he’s the featured defenseman.
Harley went for a goal and four SOG in Saturday’s 4-2 win over the Devils. He has at least one point in five out of his last seven games.
The other Hockey Club member on my roster is top defenseman Mikhail Sergachev. He’s putting together a solid campaign, coming into the night with 36 points (10 goals, 26 assists) across 53 games.
All of the anti-Hawks metrics from the Guenther section apply here, and I expect Sergachev to make his way onto the scoresheet at least once. He’s also 35th in the NHL in blocked shots (100), giving us ways to pick up fantasy points on both ends of the ice.
I love this matchup for Logan Thompson and the red-hot Capitals tonight. Thompson gets the nod in net, as he and Washington host a Calgary side ranked 28th in scoring (2.6 goals per game) and 31st in shooting percentage (9.0%).
Thompson is turning in a huge campaign, where he’s 25-2-5 (third-most wins) with a 2.25 GAA (fifth) and .920 SV% (third). It’s worth splurging on the Caps netminder tonight.
Let’s round out the lineup with Columbus’ Cole Sillinger. The centerman has stepped up in Sean Monahan‘s absence, sliding into the second-line center role.
The Blue Jacket is up to 29 points (nine goals, 20 assists) on the year, after picking up a couple of helpers in Saturday’s 5-2 win against the Blackhawks. With Boone Jenner and Kent Johnson on the 21-year-old’s wings, this line has scoring potential, even though they’re running into a tough Dallas defense.
