Welcome to Sleeper Picks. Sleeper’s newest offering promised plenty of entertainment and action, and they delivered. We will break down our top three picks for tonight’s NBA action. Sleeper is quickly becoming one of the most popular season-long fantasy platforms, and they are expanding into other areas based on demand. Each week in this space, we’ll talk about some strategy for the new platform while providing our favorite NBA more/less picks.
NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions (4/11)
Nikola Jokic (C – DEN): 9.5 rebounds (alt line)
Jokic is in the midst of a career year in multiple categories. The Co-MVP award buzz has gotten louder, but today, we are going to focus on Jokic’s consistency on the boards. Jokic is averaging 12.8 rebounds per game on the season and has hauled in double digit rebounds in seven straight games and in 14 of his last 16 contests overall. The Joker should be all the way up for tonight’s contest against a Memphis Grizzlies team that is in seventh place in the West but is only one game behind Denver for fourth place. Jab the More on Jokic for Friday night basketball.
Pick: More
Kawhi Leonard (G/F – LAC): 19.5 points (alt line)
Kawhi has been rolling for the Clippers, so it is no surprise that they have won six straight and 13 of their last 15 games overall. Kawhi has averaged 24.8 points per game in April and put up 25.2 per contest in March (17 games total), compared to 17.8 in February and 16.3 in January (18 games total). Kawhi managed just 17 points on .368 shooting when he faced Sacramento earlier this season. Kawhi should be more efficient tonight, but the full line of 25.5 is a no-go. The Klaw has scored 20 or more in 17 of his last 18 games, but has topped 25 in just two of his last five contests and 26 in just three of his last 12. Light up the More on Leonard for Friday night at Sleeper Picks.
Pick: More
Ja Morant (G – MEM): 24.5 points (alt line)
Whatever Ja’s new celebration is really intended to be, kids around the world have already started emulating it. Such is the power of the player who was emerging as the new face of the league before multiple off court incidents slowed his momentum. It doesn’t matter that the NBA wants Victor Wembanyama or Jayson Tatum to be the next face. Ja resonates the most with fans around the world, with Anthony Edwards, Luka Doncic, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander trailing behind. Ja has scored 25 or more points in 12 of his last 14 games and has jacked up at least 20 shots in each of the six games since Taylor Jenkins was unceremoniously fired just weeks before the playoffs. Jump on the More on Ja for Friday night’s NBA action.
Pick: More
Writers note: The lines are constantly changing on Sleeper (and sometimes expiring), so there is a high probability that one or all of the numbers may no longer be the same when you open your app. There are excellent values when they are first posted, with the only catch being that they are not all released at the same time. Vigilance could provide a solid return on investment this season, literally.
