Today’s MLB DFS & Player Props Picks
Wednesday’s Starting Pitcher Rankings
Cristopher Sanchez (PHI) vs. WAS
Cristopher Sanchez is off to a fast start. According to FanGraphs, the 28-year-old lefty has had the following stats in five starts spanning 26.1 innings.
- 3.42 ERA
- 2.98 xERA
- 2.65 xFIP
- 2.76 SIERA
- 1.29 WHIP
- Two wins
- Two quality starts
- 7.1 BB%
- 29.5 K%
- 55.1 GB%
- 15.1 SwStr%
- 32.0 CSW%
- 115 stuff+
- 101 location+
- 116 pitching+
He’s also a stud at home. In 201.1 innings at home since 2023, Sanchez has had a 2.95 ERA, 2.75 xFIP, 1.02 WHIP, 4.1 BB%, 25.7 K% and 57.3 GB%.
Sanchez should shove it down the throat as a heavy favorite against a lousy offense. The Philles are -225, and the game’s total is 8.0 runs. Finally, the Nationals are 24th in wRC+ (70) with a 24.1 K% versus lefties and 28th in wRC+ (72) with an 18.0 K% on the road in 2025.
Drew Rasmussen (TB) vs. KC
Drew Rasmussen hasn’t skipped a beat working as a starter again this year after pitching in relief and as an opener last season. The 29-year-old hurler has been used as a five-and-dive starter this year. Still, Rasmussen has a 2.10 ERA, 2.96 xERA, 3.03 xFIP, 3.03 SIERA and 0.90 WHIP in five starts this season, totaling 25.2 innings. Rasmussen has offset his lack of innings with a juicy 27.8 K%.
Rasmussen’s matchup against the Royals is favorable tonight. Kansas City is 29th in wRC+ (74) with a 20.0 K% versus righties and 29th in wRC+ (64) with a 23.7 K% on the road this year. Thus, the Rays are -178, and the game’s total is 9.0 runs.
Brandon Waddell (NYM) vs. ARI
Brandon Waddell will work as a bulk reliever today. He’s a DraftKings-specific suggestion at the minimum salary of $4,000. Waddell was successful the previous two years in the Korean Baseball Organization (KBO), and in five starts spanning 23.1 innings in Triple-A this year, he has a 1.54 ERA, 3.95 xFIP, 1.29 WHIP, 7.2 BB% and 21.6 K%.
Waddell has a low bar to clear to provide DFS gamers with value at DraftKings, and his matchup is a mixed bag. The Diamondbacks are 17th in wRC+ (86) with a 14.2 K% versus lefties this year. However, Arizona is also tied for sixth in wRC+ (107) with a 23.1 K% on the road this season. Thus, Waddell is not only strictly an option at DraftKings, but he’s also only appealing in GPPs, where the risk is worth the reward.

Suggested Lineup Stacks
Carlos Carrasco has been a punching bag for big-league hitters since 2023, and he’s not turning things around this year. Instead, in six appearances (five starts) in 2025, Carrasco has a 5.26 ERA, 5.10 xERA, 4.70 xFIP, 4.75 SIERA and 1.36 WHIP. The veteran righty has also coughed up 1.75 HR/9. Finally, since last season, Carrasco has yielded a .342 wOBA to 293 left-handed batters and a .379 wOBA to 263 right-handed batters.
Lucas Giolito didn’t pitch last year after having an internal brace repair for his UCL. He was crushed for a 4.88 ERA, 4.61 xERA, 4.45 xFIP and 4.21 SIERA in 33 starts in 2024. Moreover, in five starts lasting only 17.1 innings in the minors this year, Giolito has had a 5.19 ERA, 5.28 xFIP, 1.79 WHIP, 16.0 BB% and 21.0 K%. The Blue Jays have a mouthwatering matchup tonight and should take advantage of it.
Core Studs
- Since 2023, Gunnar Henderson has had a .352 OBP, .270 ISO and 153 wRC+ against righties.
- In 27 games and 114 plate appearances this season, Cedric Mullins has six homers, five stolen bases, 17 runs, 20 RBIs, a .421 OBP, .250 ISO and 182 wRC+.
- Vladimir Guerrero has had a .363 OBP, .201 ISO and 139 wRC+ against righties since 2023.
Value Plays/Punts
- In 86 plate appearances this season, Jackson Holliday has two homers, two stolen bases, a .326 OBP, .117 ISO and 105 wRC+.
- In 59 plate appearances since April 12, Mark Vientos has had three homers, a .339 OBP, .259 ISO and 145 wRC+.
- Catcher is frequently a desirable position to punt on DraftKings, and tonight isn’t an exception. Alejandro Kirk has an uninspiring 87 wRC+ against righties since 2023, but that’s a palatable mark for a catcher. However, Kirk has also destroyed Giolito. According to Baseball Savant, Kirk has three homers, a .645 wOBA and .625 xwOBA against Giolito in 11 career plate appearances.

Cristopher Sanchez: 5.5 Strikeouts – Higher (Sleeper) (1.75x)
Cristopher Sanchez: 5.5 Strikeouts – Higher (Underdog)
The Nationals have an MLB-low 19.0 K% on the road this season. However, Washington has a much more exploitable 24.8 K% versus southpaws in 2025. Sanchez is equipped to pile up strikeouts tonight. He’s exceeded 5.5 strikeouts in three of five starts this season. Sanchez had over 5.5 strikeouts in all three of his home games, and he fell short of the mark in both of his road turns.
