Suggested Lineup Stacks
Ethan Pecko is making only his second start in the Majors after tallying a 4.94 ERA, 4.68 xERA and 4.73 xFIP in 15 starts and two relief appearances in Triple-A this season.
Pecko lasted 3.2 innings in his MLB debut, allowing two runs on three hits, with walks and one hit batsman. The Yankees can rough him up tonight.
The Twins have a mouthwatering matchup against another lefty who struggles at hitter-friendly Sutter Health Park. In nine home starts spanning 43.1 innings in Gage Jump‘s rookie season, he has a 6.02 ERA, 4.52 xFIP and 1.66 WHIP.
Gage has allowed a .310 wOBA to 62 left-handed batters and a .377 wOBA to 136 right-handed batters at home. The A’s also have MLB’s worst bullpen, which is another boost to Minnesota’s offensive outlook tonight.

Value Plays/Punts
- Kaelen Culpepper rattled off four hits in five plate appearances last night. The rookie shortstop has hit two homers with six runs, four RBI, a .382 OBP, .140 ISO, .376 wOBA and 143 wRC+ in 55 plate appearances in his first opportunity in the Majors.
- Spencer Jones was overwhelmed in his first shot at the Majors earlier this year, and even with a demotion mixed in, he’s performed much better since that first opportunity. In 151 plate appearances since June 5th, Jone has hit seven homers with 20 runs, 20 RBI, seven stolen bases, a .325 OBP, .230 ISO, .344 wOBA, .329 xwOBA and 123 wRC+.
- Donovan Walton has mashed four taters with 29 runs, 18 RBIs, two stolen bases, a .374 OBP, .165 ISO, .362 wOBA and 132 wRC+ in 184 plate appearances this season.

Max Scherzer has had a dreadful season. He’s responsible for a 7.40 ERA, 4.69 xERA, 5.58 xFIP and 5.31 SIERA in 11 starts.
Scherzer also has an 8.33 ERA and 5.53 xFIP in seven home starts, totaling only 27 innings. He’s recorded fewer than 15.5 outs in seven of his 11 starts this season, including five out of seven at home.
As noted above, Gage Jump has been a disaster at home. He’s allowed more than 2.5 earned runs in seven out of nine home tilts.
Ryan Jeffers‘ excellence against lefties was established above. However, he’s also having a superb year at the dish. In 273 plate appearances this season, Jeffers has hit 10 homers with 41 runs, 42 RBI, one stolen base, a .281 batting average, .388 OBP, .203 ISO, .381 wOBA and 146 wRC+.
