The NHL regular season is winding down, but for now, there’s still money to be made on the ice as we enter the home stretch. Below I’ve listed the DFS lineup I’m deploying in the NHL tonight. This roster is playable in DraftKings’ classic $50,000 salary format, but I’ve also listed each player’s price at FanDuel’s $55,000 salary equivalent.
Here’s who I believe is primed for a big night in the NHL.

Thursday’s NHL DFS Picks & Advice
The lineup below is based on DraftKings, but FanDuel prices are also listed.
Nick Suzuki is coming off a monster night against the Panthers, where he scored the game-tying and game-winning goals in a 3-2 victory on Tuesday. He now has five points (three goals, two assists) in his last two games, as well as 79 points (25 goals, 54 assists) on the season.
Suzuki draws a matchup against a Bruins club that’s been horrible lately, allowing 4.7 goals per game during their current 0-8-1 stretch.
The Avalanche enter on a back-to-back, after notching a come-from-behind 3-2 overtime win against the Blackhawks on Wednesday. Up next is a feisty Blue Jackets team, but one that doesn’t possess much of a defense.
Despite being in the playoff hunt, Columbus is 27th in GAA (3.19) and 23rd in SV% (.887). Give me Brock Nelson (23 goals, 29 assists) as a value option. He’s recorded seven points (three goals, four assists) in his last seven outings and should thrive against the Jackets’ lowly defense.
Snagging Brandon Hagel at $6,000 feels like a steal, considering his 81 points (33 goals, 48 assists) are second on the team behind only Nikita Kucherov‘s 111 points (33 goals, 78 assists). This Bolts offense has been the best in the league over the last 10 games, averaging 4.13 goals per 60 minutes.
It’s a tall task against the Senators on the road, but Hagel should be up for the challenge, as he has 11 points (three goals, eight assists) and 26 shots on goal (SOG) in his last 11 outings. I can’t pass him up at this price.
Speaking of tall tasks, the Ducks are taking on a desperate Flames team on the road tonight. However, Cutter Gauthier (15 goals, 38 assists) has been playing well as of late, scoring four points (two goals, two assists) and averaging 3.25 shots on goal per game (SOG/G) across his last four contests.
Calgary is allowing 3.22 goals against per 60 minutes over their last 10 games, which is a pedestrian 20th in the NHL.
I have to have someone from the Oilers in my lineup tonight, as they take on a Sharks defense ranked dead last in GAA (3.54) and high-danger shots against (311), while sitting 30th in SV% (.882). Some of the better skaters on Edmonton are a bit too pricey, but I think we can make a case to back Viktor Arvidsson (12 goals, 12 assists).
The Swedish top-line winger has two goals and eight SOG in his last two outings. Honestly, it’s been a disappointing season for him, but since he’s playing on the top line with Leon Draisaitl, I think he’s worth a flier against this lowly San Jose defense.

Montreal’s Lane Hutson is developing into a star offensive defenseman right before our eyes. The 21-year-old has amassed 62 points (five goals, 57 assists) this season. I’m going to play him at this cheap price.
Hutson has six helpers in his last two games and is averaging two SOG/G during the stretch. The anti-Bruins metrics from above apply here as well. Look for Hutson’s excellent offensive run to continue in this spot.
We should see quite a bit of scoring in this Colorado versus Columbus game tonight, which I think opens up the possibility for fantasy production from some of the depth guys (Brock Nelson and Devon Toews).
I’ll take a shot on Toews (eight gals, 31 assists), who has six points (one goal, five assists) in his last six games. He’s also averaging 1.3 shots blocked per game. He may get the chance to step in front of a few pucks against this high-flying Blue Jackets offense.
With the matchups tonight, I don’t see much value in the cheaper goaltenders. I would take a flier on the Ducks’ netminding duo, but I think it’s pretty unlikely Anaheim comes through with a win at the Saddledome against the desperate Flames.
With that said, it’s worth splurging on Dallas’ Jake Oettinger. The 26-year-old is turning in another excellent year, where he’s second in wins (35-15-3) and eighth in both GAA (2.47) and SV% (.911). The Stars host a banged-up Predators squad ranked 32nd in both goals per 60 minutes (1.89) over the last 10 games and shooting percentage (7.31%) during the same span.
I’ll round things out by taking a flier on Pittsburgh’s Rutger McGroarty. The 21-year-old just returned to NHL action after spending his collegiate days at Michigan. He racked up three SOG in his first outing back in the show, as the Penguins handled the Senators in a 1-0 overtime game.
Mostly, I like this pick since McGroarty is playing alongside Sidney Crosby on the top line. He’s still producing at an insanely high rate, and the Pens have scored the ninth-most goals (34) over the last 10 games.
