Players Who Deserve A Second Chance: Travis Kelce, Christian Kirk, Najee Harris

Everyone loves a good comeback story, especially in fantasy football. Whether it was an early-season injury, a disappointing stretch of games, or simply falling short of expectations, some players just didn’t deliver in 2024. But not all letdowns are created equal. With new opportunities, improved situations, and lessons learned, several fantasy assets are primed for redemption in 2025.

In this article, our collection of Featured Pros analysts highlights the Players Who Deserve a Second Chance. Who are those worth re-evaluating before you write them off completely in your draft prep? Let’s take a look at the names the experts believe are ready to bounce back.

2025 NFL Draft Guide: Mock Drafts, Scouting Reports & More

Players Who Deserve A Second Chance

Which player deserves a second chance in 2025 despite a disappointing 2024?

Travis Kelce (TE – KC)

“While his Fantasy Owners last season may have felt they were cheated on as Taylor Swift had her name mentioned more times than the number of yards (823) Travis Kelce had last season. Despite that stat, Travis did manage 97 receptions, only to go with three TDs. Sure the days of Kelce playing like prime Gronkowski may be over, but if you can get the Hall of Fame Tight End in the Mid/Late Rounds of your Draft, he is worth the bait as it is far better dealing with him than a player with more potential than certainty. Classic example would be 2022/23/24 Kyle Pitts, give me 2025 Travis Kelce instead.”

Christian Kirk (WR – HOU)

“I know it has been a bumpy ride for Christian Kirk over the last two seasons, but I’m reinvesting for 2025. Kirk is still on the right side of 30 years old and didn’t show any signs that he was slowing down last year before being sidelined by another injury. The injury risk for Kirk will be priced into his ADP (since he hasn’t played a full 17 games since 2022), but his upside won’t be. Last year, among 113 qualifying wide receivers, Kirk ranked 14th in separation score and 20th in route win rate (per Fantasy Points Data). With Tank Dell likely sidelined for most of the season and Stefon Diggs gone, Kirk could walk away as a wonderful value pick for 2025 as the Texans’ clear WR2 behind Nico Collins.”

Najee Harris (RB – LAC)

Najee Harris absolutely deserves another chance this season. Despite playing behind a struggling Pittsburgh Steelers offensive line last year, he still managed to produce 204.6 points in PPR leagues, showcasing his resilience and talent. Now with the Los Angeles Chargers, Harris joins a team with a much stronger offensive line, ranked 12th by PFF in 2024, and a run-first philosophy under head coach Jim Harbaugh. This setup is tailor-made for Harris to thrive, allowing him to leverage his powerful running style and consistent production. With these improvements, Harris has the potential to elevate his game and become a key asset for the Chargers’ offense.”
Lawrence Iacona (Gridiron Experts)

“Everyone was clamoring for Jaylen Warren over Najee Harris last year, and rightfully so as he looked to be the better RB, but at 6-foot-1 and 242 pounds, Najee Harris bruises into the Chargers’ starting RB job having not missed a single game since being selected in the first round of the 2021 draft. On top of that, since 2021, he leads the league in forced missed tackles (rushing and receiving) with 299, he’s the only active RB that has rushed for over 1,000 yards in each of the last four years (and one of only 14 RBs in NFL history to rush for 1,000+ in their first four seasons), and he’s fifth among all active RBs with runs of 10+ yards (104). Harris fits perfectly into the Harbaugh-Roman ecosystem, and if his usage remains high and the offense gels, 1,300 rushing yards and 10+ TDs isn’t unrealistic.”
