3 Dynasty Rookie Sleepers: Tight Ends (2025 Fantasy Football)

While Colston Loveland and Tyler Warren were the faces of the crop of tight ends entering the NFL as part of the 2025 NFL Draft class, there are still some notable sleepers that dynasty managers should be aware of ahead of their rookie drafts or to scoop up off the waiver wire.

Below, I’ll examine some sleeper prospects, with an emphasis on players who went later in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Dynasty Rookie Sleepers: Tight Ends

Luke Lachey (TE – HOU)

Going No. 255 overall and the third-from-last pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, there’s some upside with Luke Lachey.

First and foremost, he’s coming out of Iowa, which has produced numerous talented tight ends, including George Kittle and Sam LaPorta.

Lachey showed some explosiveness at the combine with a 35-inch vertical jump (72nd percentile) and a 120-inch broad jump (76th percentile), but he didn’t run a 40-yard dash.

While at Iowa, Lachey dealt with numerous injuries. His production wasn’t great, but, to be fair, almost no pass-catching option is ever productive in the Hawkeyes’ offense.

Lachey caught 74 passes for 893 yards and four touchdowns across 42 games over five years.

Texans starting tight end Dalton Schultz is about to turn 30, and there’s a potential out in his contract in 2026. There’s Brevin Jordan as well, but he hasn’t been the most productive player to this point in his NFL career, with a season-high of 20 catches in his rookie season.

Could Lachey be the next notable Iowa tight end? It’s possible, and he’s beyond free right now in dynasty.

Caleb Lohner (TE – DEN)

Caleb Lohner is a truly unique tight end prospect. He played just 57 snaps of football in his career and is a former college basketball player with BYU and Utah.

Now, he’s on the Broncos.

Does this situation sound familiar?

It wasn’t too long ago that Sean Payton took a chance on a tight end who played just one season of college football after primarily playing college basketball.

That player was Jimmy Graham.

Lohner has some natural ball skills, but there’s a lot of development that needs to be had.

If anyone can do it, it’s Payton.

Oronde Gadsden II (TE – LAC)

The son of former NFL wide receiver Oronde Gadsden Sr., Oronde Gadsden II also played wide receiver before converting to tight end.

Gadsden doesn’t have a ton of testing numbers, but he’s coming off a season with Syracuse in which he had 73 catches for 934 yards and seven touchdowns.

The new Chargers tight end has been productive when healthy. In 2022, he caught 61 balls for 975 yards and six touchdowns. He’s probably more of a big slot option at the NFL level. The tight end depth chart is a bit muddled with the Chargers, as Gadsden has Will Dissly and Tyler Conklin ahead of him.

Fortunately for Gadsden, Dissly is only signed to a three-year deal worth $14 million (signed in 2024), and there’s a potential out in 2026. As for Conklin, he’s on a one-year, $3 million deal.

Gadsden is in a fairly good position to become a prominent part of the offense should either Dissly or Conklin depart. This offense lacks pass-catching weapons after Ladd McConkey and rookie wide receiver Tre Harris.
