Tuesday’s Starting Pitcher Rankings
Cristopher Sanchez (PHI) at MIA
Cristopher Sanchez is having a fantastic 2025 season. According to FanGraphs, the lefty has had the following stats in 14 starts spanning 79.2 innings this year.
- 3.05 ERA
- 3.35 xERA
- 3.14 xFIP
- 3.33 SIERA
- 1.24 WHIP
- Five wins
- Eight quality starts
- 8.4 BB%
- 26.3 K%
- 53.1 GB%
- 13.1 SwStr%
- 29.2 CSW%
- 113 stuff+
- 94 location+
- 109 pitching+
Sanchez has a favorable matchup and fabulous betting info tonight. The Marlins are 13th in wRC+ (92) with a 20.4 K% versus lefties and 23rd in wRC+ (89) with a 21.5 K% at home this season. Miami was also 18th in wRC+ (96) with an 18.7 K% in the previous 30 days. So, the Phillies are -180, and the game’s total is 7.5 runs.
Edward Cabrera (MIA) vs. PHI
Edward Cabrera and the Marlins are +149 underdogs, but the game’s total is a pitcher-friendly 7.5 runs. Cabrera’s matchup is middling tonight. The Phillies are tied for 10th in wRC+ (106) with a 19.7 K% versus righties and 16th in wRC+ (95) with a 21.4 K% on the road this year. Yet, Philadelphia’s offense is also less formidable with Bryce Harper on the Injured List (IL).
Cabrera is in excellent form and built to shut down a mid-pack offense. Cabrera has had the following stats in his last five starts totaling 23.1 innings.
- 2.31 ERA
- 2.79 xFIP
- 3.07 SIERA
- 1.37 WHIP
- Two wins
- 9.9 BB%
- 31.7 K%
- 51.7 GB%
- 14.5 SwStr%
- 32.3 CSW%
- 104 stuff+
- 106 location+
- 109 pitching+
Cabrera isn’t an appealing pick on FanDuel since he hasn’t thrown a quality start in 11 turns this year. Still, Cabrera is a sweet SP2 in all game types at DraftKings.
Charlie Morton (BAL) at TB
Charlie Morton has a challenging matchup tonight. The Rays are sixth in wRC+ (113) with a 22.3 K% versus righties and tied for 11th in wRC+ (113) with a 22.0 K% at home in 2025. Moreover, Tampa Bay was first in wRC+ (126) with a 21.8 K% in the previous 30 days. Unsurprisingly, the Orioles are +128, and the game’s total is an unappetizing 9.0 runs. Those factors should dissuade gamers from using Morton in their DFS lineups, enhancing the appeal for using him in GPPs.
Morton is worth a dice roll at a probable low roster percentage on this small slate because of the quality of his pitching lately. In his previous four starts spanning 20 innings, Morton has had a 2.70 ERA, 2.95 xFIP, 3.20 SIERA and 1.45 WHIP. Morton also had a DFS-friendly 29.7 K%, with a 13.5 SwStr%, 34.1 CSW%, 103 stuff+, 97 location+ and 101 pitching+ supporting his juicy strikeout rate.

Suggested Lineup Stacks
Jacob Lopez has a 4.80 ERA, 3.57 xERA, 4.37 xFIP, 3.66 SIERA and 1.50 WHIP in nine appearances (five starts) this season. The lefty has a 4.64 ERA, 4.49 xFIP, 3.97 SIERA and 1.45 WHIP in his starts. MLB’s worst bullpen also backs Lopez. As a result, the Astros should explode in hitter-friendly Sutter Health Park tonight.
- Road (Truist Park)
- Game Total/Moneyline: 8.5 Runs/NYM +112
The Mets are a GPP-only stacking suggestion. Spencer Strider is coming off a gem in Atlanta against the Rockies, but clowning the Rockies out of Colorado should be taken with a grain of salt. The righty hasn’t been a world-beater in his return to the hill this season. Instead, Strider has a 4.35 ERA, 4.27 xERA, 3.96 xFIP and 3.49 SIERA in six starts in 2025. The righty has served up 1.45 HR/9, and his pitch modeling — 98 stuff+, 91 location+ and 89 pitching+ — is underwhelming. New York’s projected lineup has six batters with at least a 103 wRC+ against righties since 2023, and four have had at least a 123 wRC+. Finally, a few of the Mets have had Strider’s number in a small sample of plate appearances against him.
Core Studs
- In 328 plate appearances against lefties since 2023, Isaac Paredes has swatted 12 homers with a .363 OBP, .177 ISO and 132 wRC+.
- Jose Altuve has hit a dozen homers with 35 runs, 34 RBIs, six stolen bases, a .322 OBP, .165 ISO and 115 wRC+ in 301 plate appearances this season.
- Jeremy Pena has mashed nine taters with 44 runs, 36 RBIs, 15 stolen bases, a .377 OBP, .153 ISO and 144 wRC+ in 317 plate appearances this year.
Value Plays/Punts
- Cam Smith has muscled up for four longballs, a .412 OBP, .536 ISO and 237 wRC+ in his first 34 plate appearances against lefties in the Majors.
- Drake Baldwin has popped seven homers with 14 runs, 19 RBIs, a .331 OBP, .177 ISO and 120 wRC+ in 151 plate appearances in his rookie campaign.
- In Dylan Carlson‘s previous 73 plate appearances, he’s hit four homers with nine runs, 10 RBIs, two stolen bases, a .370 OBP, .217 ISO and 163 wRC+.

Thursday’s Top 3 Underdog Player Props
Check out our best picks on the MLB Underdog Cheat Sheet
Spencer Strider: 37.5 Fantasy Points – Lower
Strider hasn’t been the same pitcher this year as before having an internal brace inserted in his right elbow for his damaged ulnar collateral ligament (UCL). Even if Strider was in pre-surgery form, the Mets are a challenging assignment. The Mets are fourth in wRC+ (116) and tied for fourth in wRC+ (106) on the road this year. Thus, Strider is unlikely to spin a gem tonight.
Jose Altuve: 8.5 Fantasy Points – Higher
Altuve has a .397 OBP, .184 ISO and 159 wRC+ in 315 plate appearances against left-handed pitchers since 2023. Conversely, Lopez has coughed up a .352 wOBA to 140 righties since last year.
Isaac Paredes: 7.5 Fantasy Points – Higher
Paredes has smashed 15 homers with 39 runs, 44 RBIs, a .355 OBP, .218 ISO and 136 wRC+ in 307 plate appearances this season. He also has the same platoon advantage against Lopez as Altuve, and Paredes’ and Altuve’s overs for fantasy points are positively correlated selections.
