Top Early-Round Fantasy Football Draft Targets (2025)

For our latest fantasy football mock draft, let’s break down how I approach picking from the middle of the pack in a non-PPR league. I like drafting either inside the first three picks or the last three picks, but in this case, let’s see how I handle the 1.06 draft slot with the default roster settings on Yahoo of 1-QB, 2-RB, 2-WR, 1-Flex, 1-TE, 1-D/ST and 1-Kicker. Here are some of my favorite picks from this recent fantasy football mock draft.

Fantasy Football Draft Picks to Target

CeeDee Lamb (WR – DAL)

I have been drafting a lot of CeeDee Lamb, and I am OK with it. I think this Dallas offense is going to be one of the best in the league.

Other options included Derrick Henry, Puka Nacua and Christian McCaffrey. It was a pretty easy decision for me to take Lamb. In a standard, non-PPR league, I could understand an argument for Henry. If Jahmyr Gibbs had fallen to the sixth pick, I probably would have taken him over Lamb.

Josh Jacobs (RB – GB)

I wanted to get at least one bell-cow back at this spot and had many options to choose from, including Chase Brown, Kyren Williams and Bucky Irving.

This pick came down to Jacobs and Irving, with my Packer fandom being the tie-breaker.

Trey McBride (TE – ARI)

This was my first chance at landing Trey McBride. I wanted to go with another running back, but I preferred McBride over the likes of James Cook and David Montgomery.

McBride is my TE1 heading into this year. Last year, among the 47 qualified tight ends, he was first in target share, second in receiving yards per game, third in yards per route run and led the league in first downs per route run.
