Fantasy Football Injury Report: Jauan Jennings, Xavier Worthy, Chris Olave

We’re nearly through Week 1 of the NFL season. The only game left on the docket is the Chicago Bears hosting the Minnesota Vikings. Below, I’ll provide a roundup of the latest injury news. Here is this week’s initial fantasy football injury report.

Fantasy Football Injury Updates

Note: The list below mainly includes new injuries. However, players like Chris Godwin and Isaiah Likely, who aren’t officially on injured reserve (IR), the Non-Football Injury/Illness list (NFI) or the physically unable to perform (PUP) list, will remain on this report.

Jauan Jennings (WR – SF)

Jauan Jennings was dealing with a calf injury heading into Week 1; however, in the San Francisco 49ers’ win over the Seattle Seahawks, he suffered a shoulder injury and could “barely lift his arm.”

Jauan Jennings (shoulder) to undergo MRI Monday
49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said Jauan Jennings will undergo an MRI “in the next 24 hours” to determine the severity of his injury.

Fantasy Impact

Jennings suffered the injury in Sunday’s game against the Seahawks and did not return. The 49ers wide receiver room was already thin, and they also lost George Kittle to a hamstring injury. There should be an update on the status of Jennings on Monday.

Xavier Worthy (WR – KC)

Xavier Worthy suffered a right shoulder dislocation after colliding with Travis Kelce in the Kansas City Chiefs’ Week 1 loss in Brazil to the Los Angeles Chargers. He’ll likely miss some time.

Xavier Worthy (shoulder) without timetable for return
Xavier Worthy is without a timetable to return for the Chiefs after suffering a dislocated shoulder in the team’s Week 1 loss to the Chargers according to Ian Rapoport.

Fantasy Impact

Worthy is still undergoing further testing before making a decision on the best next steps for the wideout, with an option to return with a brace this season. In his absence, Marquise Brown should continue to command the majority of wide receivers targets, with a Week 2 contest against the Philadelphia Eagles up next.

Chris Olave (WR – NO)

Chris Olave left the New Orleans Saints’ Week 1 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals briefly, but did return to the field.
