Fantasy Football Injury Updates
Note: The list below includes new injuries. However, players like Chris Godwin, Isaiah Likely and Xavier Worthy, who aren’t officially on injured reserve (IR), the Non-Football Injury/Illness list (NFI) or the physically unable to perform (PUP) list, will remain on this report.
Quarterback
Joe Burrow (QB – CIN)
Joe Burrow left Week 2’s game about halfway through the second quarter with what appeared to be an ankle/leg injury. It was later revealed that he suffered a turf toe injury and was seen with a walking boot. It is believed that he suffered a Grade 3 turf toe injury, which would result in surgery and a three-month absence.
In relief, Jake Browning had two passing touchdowns and three interceptions. He’d be the starter if Burrow does indeed miss time.
Justin Fields (QB – NYJ)
In the fourth quarter against the Buffalo Bills, Jets quarterback Justin Fields suffered a concussion and didn’t return. If he’s out for Week 3, Tyrod Taylor would be the starter.
Running Back
Austin Ekeler (RB – WSH)
Austin Ekeler suffered a torn Achilles tendon on Thursday Night Football against the Green Bay Packers. He’s out for the season.
Aaron Jones (RB – MIN)
Aaron Jones left the team’s Sunday Night Football game against the Atlanta Falcons due to a hamstring injury. The severity is unknown.
Wide Receiver
Chris Godwin (WR – TB)
Chris Godwin (ankle) hasn’t been placed on IR. Tampa Bay Buccaneers general manager Jason Licht said he’ll likely return in Week 5.
Xavier Worthy (WR – KC)
Xavier Worthy suffered a right shoulder dislocation in Week 1. He wasn’t placed on IR, but missed Week 2.
Jayden Reed (WR – GB)
Jayden Reed suffered a broken collarbone after going up for a catch and falling on Thursday Night Football against Washington. He’s expected to miss upward of eight weeks.
Tight End
Isaiah Likely (TE – BAL)
Isaiah Likely is dealing with a foot injury that required surgery. Baltimore Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta believes he’ll be back in the early portion of the season.
