Most Added Players
Tre Tucker (WR – LV)
Tre Tucker shelled out in Week 3 with the biggest breakout of the week. His eight catches for 145 and three Touchdowns have brought him to the top of this week’s waiver wire adds. He will look to continue to build on this performance in Week 4 versus the Bears.
Tyquan Thornton (WR – KC)
Have the Chiefs finally found a legitimate weapon? The speedster balled out with five catches for 71 yards and a touchdown to potentially save the Chiefs’ season.
The biggest item to note is that Tyquan Thornton led the team with nine targets, showing Patrick Mahomes must have some level of trust in this former second-round pick. With Xavier Worthy still on the fence for Week 4, Thornton is a potential Flex play to plug some holes in the injury-riddled Chiefs’ wide receiver room.
Hunter Henry (TE – NE)
Is Hunter Henry Drake Maye‘s new favorite target? We think so. Henry led the Patriots in catches, yards and targets by a wide margin in Week 3, providing an otherwise lackluster tight end position this year. Managers dealing with injuries or letdowns from the old guard have taken notice, leading Henry to be on this week’s must-add list.
Woody Marks (RB – HOU)
Woody Marks appears to have finally cut into Nick Chubb‘s lock on this backfield, gaining six touches to Chubb’s nine. Look for this trend to continue, given the lack of success Chubb and the Texans’ run game have had to date.
Marks was an often-overlooked rookie from this year’s draft class, carrying with him the explosiveness that Chubb at this stage of his career could only dream of getting back.
Most Dropped Players
Dylan Sampson (RB – CLE)
With Quinshon Judkins finally getting on the field, Dylan Sampson’s hopes of taking over this backfield have faded. Getting only one carry and no looks in the passing game in Week 3, Sampson is an easy drop in most formats.
Jake Browning (QB – CIN)
Many managers were hoping Jake Browning would bring the success he showed last year, filling in for Joe Burrow. However, that was clearly not the case in Week 3, as he managed a meager 140 passing yards and threw two interceptions. Managers clearly will not want to be banking on him being that replacement and are best to look back at the waiver wire for a Burrow replacement.
From stud to dud, Troy Franklin took a clear backseat to Courtland Sutton in Week 3 and was an afterthought in the Denver passing game. Managing two catches for eight yards, Franklin let many managers down. After a hot Week 2, leading him to be a top waiver wire add, he is back to being nothing more than a waiver wire dart throw in the weeks to come.
Most Traded Players
Trey Benson (RB – ARI)
With James Connor out for the year, the talented second-year back is ready to roll. Troy Benson instantly slides in as an RB2 for the rest of the season. Managers who have stashed him since their drafts can trade him to desperate owners at a premium or fill holes in their rosters that have developed.
Brian Thomas Jr. (WR – JAX)
Brian Thomas Jr. and the Jaguars’ passing game continue to struggle. Before this week, managers held hope as he continued to command the targets, but those fell in Week 3 as both Parker Washington and Brenton Strange commanded more looks than Thomas. Thomas is an oft-traded player, as some managers are simply trying to get out, while others hope he returns to his 2024 glory.
Chase Brown (RB – CIN)
With Jake Browning creating no fear in the passing game, Chase Brown found zero success on the ground. Getting 10 carries and a meager three yards, many managers are bailing on this draft day shining star, trying to sell for anything they can get.
Ashton Jeanty (RB – LV)
Ashton Jeanty finally showed some life in Week 3 with 17 carries for 63 yards. While not the performance of a late-first or early-second round pick, it gives many managers hope that brighter days are ahead. This week’s matchup should be a good one, and many managers are looking to buy this talented running back ahead of his full breakout that should be coming.
Travis Etienne Jr. (RB – JAX)
The roller coaster of emotions continues for Travis Etienne managers, with him looking like both the 2023 amazing version of himself and the 2024 version. He out-touched Bhayshul Tuten 16-6 but gained a meager 56yards in Week 3. A fourth-quarter touchdown saved his fantasy day.
Final Thoughts
With Week 3 behind us, all preseason assumptions should be as well. Thinking we are ~20% through with the regular season, owners must make moves now or be left behind. Adjustments are needed, from planning to save your season this week, or even starting to plan for the playoff push. Week 4 will surlily bring some new surprises, but if you stay calm, nimble and well-informed, you can always stay in the hunt.
