Just like that, Week 8 of the NFL season is in the books. For dynasty fantasy football managers, it’s time to find an edge. While weekly results grab attention, long-term value wins championships. This week’s slate of games created clear buy-low and sell-high opportunities. These recommendations will help you acquire the right assets to win consistently and build a dynasty powerhouse.

Players to Buy
Chris Olave (WR – NO)
Chris Olave has been a clear “buy” candidate in dynasty all season long. The main concern amongst the dynasty community is that Olave wastes his prime years without a legitimate quarterback. While the current situation in New Orleans is far from ideal, there’s no denying Olave has been one of the most consistent receivers in the NFL this season.
Olave has seen double-digit targets in six out of eight games this year and is currently the WR2 overall in targets, behind only Ja’Marr Chase. Olave is the WR6 in first-read targets, the WR7 in target rate and the WR6 in red-zone targets. Despite being on a struggling offense, Olave has scored 14.9 PPR points per game this year, and his 17.3 expected points per game rank WR7 overall this season.
The 25-year-old veteran still has plenty of productive seasons ahead of him, and I’m betting on talent over situation. We’ve now gotten word that Tyler Shough will take over under center in New Orleans. In the best-case scenario, Shough is better than any of us imagined, and he helps elevate Olave to that elite fantasy tier.
Worst case, Shough is terrible, and the Saints remain in the running to grab the first quarterback off the board in the 2026 NFL Draft. There’s also a real possibility the Saints move Olave, and he finds himself in a better situation soon. Regardless, I’m very bullish on Olave and willing to spend as much as a mid-first-round rookie pick on him, or equivalent player value.
RJ Harvey (RB – DEN)
If you grabbed RJ Harvey in your 2025 rookie draft, you’ve likely grown impatient with the lack of work he’s received in this Denver offense. Despite only seeing 17 total snaps this past weekend, Harvey made the most of his limited role, finding the end zone twice on the ground and once through the air.
While J.K. Dobbins and Harvey have had similar per-rush metrics this season, the eye test tells me Harvey is a more explosive option, and it’s not particularly close. Harvey has also been the go-to option in the receiving game, seeing 20 targets and 18 receptions thus far. It’s just a matter of time before Harvey takes over this Denver backfield, at which point the buy window will have closed.
Now is the time to take advantage of the lack of usage he’s seen and buy at a discount. Following his 24-point performance this past Sunday, the price tag has increased, but he’s still very affordable. You could look to do a one-for-one swap with Chase Brown or Derrick Henry. You could also try to add a third-round pick to someone like Travis Etienne to get the deal done. Harvey is someone we’ll look back at the end of the season and be very thankful we bought now.
Players to Sell
Tyrone Tracy Jr. (RB – NYG)
Tyrone Tracey Jr. was thrust back into the No. 1 RB role for New York this weekend, following a devastating ankle injury to Cam Skattebo. With Skattebo sidelined for the rest of this season, Tracey is the presumed starter and workhorse going forward. The only competition behind him is 28-year-old Devin Singletary, who has yet to see more than a 32% snap share across eight games this season.
If you’re on a contending team, it may be worth hanging onto Tracy and taking advantage of this expanded role while it lasts. But if you have a middling team or a rebuilder, this is the perfect time to offload Tracy for some actual value. It’s overwhelmingly likely that, following this season, Tracy returns to his handcuff role.
Even in the event Skattebo never returns to his former self, New York would bring someone else in to compete for touches. Tracy may only be in his second season, but he turns 26 next month, and his Day 3 draft capital gives him virtually no value insulation.
If you can sell Tracy for a second-round rookie pick, I would be very happy to do that. I would also see if you can add a late-round pick or depth piece on top of Tracy to tier up to someone like Bhayshul Tuten or Woody Marks.
Josh Jacobs (RB – GB)
Josh Jacobs really couldn’t have found himself in a better situation when he landed in Green Bay. This offense is one of the most run-heavy in the NFL, which is due in large part to them playing in so many positive game scripts. In addition, Green Bay is averaging 27.6 points per game, ranking fifth in the NFL. This means tons of high-value touches for Jacobs, who has scored in all but one game this year.
So why is Jacobs a sell-high candidate? His lack of efficiency is cause for concern from a dynasty lens. According to Pro Football Focus (PFF), out of 40 running backs with 50+ rush attempts this season, Jacobs ranks 33rd in yards per attempt (YPA), 23rd in yards after contact per attempt (YCO/A) and 30th in breakaway rate. We just saw Emanuel Wilson see a season-high 42% snap share this past weekend, as Jacobs only finished with two more rush attempts.
I’m not suggesting that Wilson is going to turn this into a committee backfield; Jacobs is still the lead back in Green Bay. But if we’re looking at this long-term, I’m not so sure this front office will want to keep him on board. Jacobs will enter his eighth season in 2026, and the Packers could save $8 million in cap space if they cut him.
Sure, Jacobs has found the end zone quite a bit this year, but how many other running backs in the league could put up similar or better production in the same situation? I would say quite a bit.
You could likely sell Jacobs for as much as a mid-first, or a late-first and a late-second round pick. If you’re looking for players, I would swap Jacobs for Breece Hall without a thought.
