Fantasy Football Streamers & Waiver Wire Targets: Tight Ends

The tight end position matters greatly in fantasy football. Tight ends are not as flashy as their route-running counterparts at wide receiver. Most of them do not normally get the same volume of touches as fantasy-relevant running backs. That can sometimes lead to them being overlooked or treated as an afterthought. Do not make that mistake.

The tight end pool is the shallowest of them all in terms of fantasy. Finding production there weekly can be incredibly challenging, especially for those who did not invest in one of the top options during draft season.

One way to find success at the position is by carefully playing the waiver wire week-to-week. The goal of this weekly article is to help fantasy managers do just that by finding low-rostered tight ends in the best situations for that particular week.

Week 10 Fantasy Football Tight End Streamers & Waiver Wire Pickups

The following tight ends are rostered in fewer than 75% of Yahoo! leagues.

Juwan Johnson (TE – NO) at CAR | 35% Rostered

Even with rookie Tyler Shough taking over at quarterback for the Saints in Week 9, Juwan Johnson remained productive. The Rams are not an easy matchup, but the veteran tight end was able to score the Saints’ only touchdown. It was Johnson’s first visit to the end zone since Week 2 and second of the season.

Johnson’s production was limited overall, as he finished the 34-10 loss with three receptions on four targets for 31 yards. The Panthers’ defense is playing well and really impressed in a victory at Green Bay in Week 9. However, the Carolina unit is allowing 64.7 receiving yards per game (26th NFL) to the tight-end position. Johnson should find a few openings.

Theo Johnson (TE – NYG) at CHI | 33% Rostered

Theo Johnson was suggested in this article last week, so it’s back to the well with the Giants’ red-zone monster. The former Penn State standout hit paydirt against the 49ers this past Sunday, giving him five touchdowns over the last six weeks. Johnson’s 10 red-zone targets on the season rank fifth-most among tight ends. He’s caught six of them, scoring four times.

The Chicago defense currently comes in at 25th against the pass for the year, surrendering 237.6 yards per game. The group allowed Bengals tight ends to go for 70 yards and a score in Week 9.

Johnson is not a volume play. He has only topped three receptions twice this season and reached 30 yards just three times. Still, his potential inside the 20-yard line is too much to ignore.

Dalton Schultz (TE – HOU) vs. JAX | 27% Rostered

On the opposite end of the spectrum from Theo Johnson, Dalton Schultz has yet to cross the goal line through eight games in 2025. What the 29-year-old tight end has done is be a steady option in the Texans’ passing game, recording at least five receptions in five of the last six games. He caught six passes for 77 yards opposite a stout Denver defense in Week 9. Those marks came just two weeks after grabbing nine out of 10 targets for 98 yards at Seattle.

The Broncos and Seahawks feature superior defenses to that of the Jaguars, which was just shredded by Vegas tight end Brock Bowers (127 yds, three touchdowns), with some help from Michael Mayer (three receptions, 26 yards), this past Sunday. Obviously, Schultz is not Bowers, but he is a more than capable fantasy option in the right situation. This is the right situation.
