Fantasy Football Burning Questions

Who Starts at Quarterback for the Colts?

After a 7-1 start to the season, the Colts have now lost three of their last four games and currently sit in third place in the AFC South, just outside the playoff picture. With only four games remaining in the regular season, the biggest question for Indianapolis will be addressing the situation under center after losing Daniel Jones to a season-ending torn achilles.

Anthony Richardson is still on injured reserve (IR) with an orbital fracture. Sixth-round rookie (No. 189 overall) Riley Leonard returned to practice yesterday. However, head coach Shane Steichen has yet to name a starter after the team signed 44-year-old quarterback Philip Rivers earlier this week.

Is Josh Jacobs Playing?

Josh Jacobs did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday, as he is dealing with a knee injury that has already forced him to miss time this season. While he was limited in practice on Friday, his status is up in the air, currently listed as questionable to play.

If Jacobs were to miss, Emanuel Wilson would be the next man up. He handled 30 touches for 125 yards from scrimmage and a pair of scores in his last start back in Week 12. However, the Packers play in the afternoon window this weekend, and we may not have an answer until closer to kickoff. If Jacobs is a game-time decision, fantasy managers should have a backup plan if Wilson is not available.

Can We Trust Kenny Pickett?

Geno Smith has been ruled out for Week 15, dealing with a shoulder injury, leaving Kenny Pickett as the starter, set to face his former team in a revenge game. Although Pickett likely won’t be starting in any fantasy leagues, especially in the first round of the playoffs, he has a significant impact on household names like Ashton Jeanty and Brock Bowers, who were both selected in the first two rounds of drafts this offseason.

As 12.5-point underdogs on the road against the Philadelphia Eagles, with a 12.5 implied team total, it’s hard to feel great about any Raiders. However, it’s unlikely that better options are sitting on the bench or on the waiver wire.
