Fantasy Football Kicker Rankings & Start/Sit Advice (Week 16)

Through 15 weeks of the NFL season, Jason Myers leads all players with 179 fantasy football points, with Brandon Aubrey trailing in second place with 159. Cameron Dicker is third with 152. Ka’imi Fairbairn is fourth with 142 points, despite missing two games with a hamstring injury.

FantasyPros Fantasy Football Start-Sit Assistant

It is somewhat of a surprise that Myers, not Aubrey, is the top fantasy kicker, but Myers was the top kicker in 2022 and does have a history of finishing in the top five.

What is interesting about the top four players is that they all have something in common. You might think it is because they are all on top-scoring teams, but that would not be correct. While Dallas and Seattle are in the top 10, Houston and the Chargers are both outside of the top 15 in points per game.

The thing that all four teams have in common, and the reason why I use the K Score to rank players, is that they all play on teams that rank in the top half in yards per game but at or near the bottom half in red-zone efficiency. In addition, three of the top four players (sorry, Aubrey) play on teams that have solid defenses that limit opponent scoring and keep game scripts from going sideways.

Aubrey’s distance advantage gives him an even greater leg up on other kickers, but he also benefits from a Dallas team ranked 13th in red-zone scoring.

Moral of the story? When you look at kickers next year, don’t go simply off of points per game or how great your kicker’s offense appears on paper. Points per game do not always equate to fantasy goodness for kickers.

Fantasy Football Kicker Rankings & Start/Sit Advice: Week 16

Widely Available Kickers With Strong Week 15 Performances

Blake Grupe (K – IND) @ Seattle: 3% Roster Percentage on Yahoo

The Phillip Rivers-led (didn’t think I would ever write that again) Colts nearly upset the Seahawks on the road, but fell short on a last-second field goal by Jason Myers. Before Myers hit his kick, Blake Grupe, the former Saints kicker who was cast away for inaccuracy, nailed a long field goal to give the Colts a temporary lead. Grupe now has the 49ers at home in the dome and a shockingly low K Score, making him an interesting option for owners looking for an upside play.

Brandon McManus (K – GB) @ Denver: 16% Roster Percentage on Yahoo

I wrote about Brandon McManus in my rankings section last week as a possible upside play against the Broncos. The former Denver kicker did not disappoint, with 16 fantasy points and four made field goals.

Widely Rostered Kickers With Dud Week 15 Performances

Chris Boswell (K – PIT) vs. Miami: 72% Roster Percentage on Yahoo

Chris Boswell has made this section a few times in 2025, and not because of missed kicks on his part. He simply has been given game scripts where Aaron Rodgers and the offense do not give him a chance to kick field goals. Four extra points equals a disappointing week in fantasy, and that comes with the territory for a Rodgers kicker. Just ask Mason Crosby’s managers of yesteryear.

*Red Zone Efficiency is based on the inverse of how well the kicker’s offense does in the red zone. For example, the Ravens rank 31st in red zone efficiency; therefore, Tyler Loop has an RZ EFF score of one. The lower the number, the better for kickers, as playing on a team that struggles to score touchdowns in the red zone equates to more field goal opportunities.

**The K Score is the sum of a player’s opponent red zone, the red-zone efficiency of his offense and the overall rank of his respective team in terms of total yards. A low score indicates that a kicker has variables working in his favor for a good fantasy kicking performance.

Kicker rankings are based on numerous factors, including matchups, Vegas lines and score projections, weather conditions, the ability of a kicker’s team offense and their ability to move the ball into field goal range, offensive red-zone efficiency and how well the opposing defense limits touchdowns in the red zone. These factors are a guide, but not a definitive way to predict kicking success, as other variables and negative game scripts significantly impact the outcome.

Based on all of the variables mentioned above, the following two kickers are players ranked outside of FantasyPros’ top-10 expert consensus rankings (ECR) at the kicker position who could be excellent plays in Week 13.

Week 15 Standout Kickers

Harrison Mevis (K – LAR) vs. Seattle: 16% Roster Percentage on Yahoo

With an injury to Davante Adams and a stout Seattle defense, this game could be lower scoring than the projected total of 44 points. Harrison Mevis is ranked outside of the top 25, but I think he could be a fine play with at least nine fantasy points this week versus the Seahawks.

Cam Little (K – JAX) @ Denver: 65% Roster Percentage on Yahoo

The Jacksonville offense looked impressive last week at home against the Jets, but a road tilt against the Broncos is going to be a far greater challenge. I like Cam Little in this matchup to post a top-10 finish.

Prediction Review

Each week, I suggest two kickers ranked outside the FantasyPros ECR top 10 who I believe will be solid performers based on the variables described in the K Score section. The following is a review of my picks from the previous week to see where I was successful and where I missed the mark.

Cairo Santos (K – CHI) vs. Cleveland: 23% Roster Percentage on Yahoo

  • ECR Rank: K20
  • My Rank: K7
  • Week 15 Finish: K20

Cairo Santos shanked a short field goal that proved to be a six-point swing (depending on scoring), and left him with six points instead of 12 that would have made him a top-10 kicker. The K Score predicts opportunities, and it is up to the kicker to make them. In Santos’ case, he did not live up to his end of the bargain.

Brandon McManus (K – GB) @ Denver: 17% Roster Percentage on Yahoo

  • ECR Rank: K15
  • My Rank: K12
  • Week 15 Finish: K4

Unlike Cairo Santos, Brandon McManus did take care of his tries and finished with 16 fantasy points for the 17% of Yahoo managers who started him. I like him again this week against the Bears.
