3 Early-Round Draft Picks Experts Love (Fantasy Baseball)

We are officially back. It is that time of the year, with spring training right around the corner. We will be running a fantasy baseball mock draft using FantasyPros’ Draft Wizard tool. We’ll look at some of my favorite picks for a 12-team, head-to-head, traditional 5×5 categories league with the following positions: 1-C, 1-1B, 1-2B, 1-3B, 1-SS, 3-OF, 1-UTIL, 5-Pitchers and three bench spots. Let’s dive into a few of my favorite picks from a recent mock draft. And you can also check out the full fantasy baseball mock draft.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto (SP – LAD)

I’m looking for Yoshinobu Yamamoto to build off his dominant performance in the postseason. He had his workload managed during the regular season last year, but the hope is that changes this upcoming season, given his performance in the postseason.

Ketel Marte (2B – ARI)

Despite the trade rumors all offseason, it appears Ketel Marte will remain with Arizona heading into Opening Day. It’s still possible that a trade happens near or at the trade deadline during the season. Either way, he remains one of the top second basemen.

Kyle Schwarber (DH – PHI)

I consider Kyle Schwarber as early as round three. He is coming off a 56-home run season, where he played in all 162 games. Schwarber’s average has taken a bit of a hit, but the power upside remains high.
