Dynasty Rookie Draft Rankings: Quarterbacks (2026 Fantasy Football)

Just like every NFL season, there will be several teams looking to draft a quarterback in April’s upcoming draft. While there may be one consensus top pick this year, the rest of the draft offers a myriad of question marks for teams looking for quarterback upside later in the draft. For the 2026 fantasy football season, which quarterbacks should we know that might have fantasy relevance? Here are the top 10 quarterbacks and dynasty rookie draft rankings for the 2026 NFL draft.

Dynasty Rookie Draft Rankings: 2026 NFL Draft Quarterback Prospects

Fernando Mendoza (QB – Indiana)

Heisman Trophy winner and College Football Playoff National Champion Fernando Mendoza is the presumptive and betting favorite to be the number one overall pick for the Las Vegas Raiders. But is that because he is worthy of the number one option or because of the lack of better options and the desperation for a new quarterback in Las Vegas?

Mendoza finished the season with 3,535 passing yards and 41 touchdowns. His 27 red-zone touchdowns were the most in the country, and he did not throw an interception in that area. He is accurate and tough, and not afraid to run. However, his accuracy was only 50% when he faced pressure this season. For fantasy football, he should get plenty of reps in his rookie season.

Ty Simpson (QB – Alabama)

When Dante Moore decided to go back to Oregon, Ty Simpson became next in line and should be the second quarterback taken in the draft. He had 30 total touchdowns this season. He is an accurate passer and has enough ability with his legs that defenses have to respect that aspect of his game.

On the downside, Simpson only has 15 starts under his belt and will be very green coming into the NFL. He isn’t a typical first-round talent, but he might end up in the latter part of that round because of the lack of other alternatives in this draft.

Trinidad Chambliss (QB – Ole Miss)

Trinidad Chambliss has filed to come back to college for another season, but so far, those requests have been denied. A former transfer from Division II Ferris State, Chamblis was magnificent on the national stage, leading the Rebels to this year’s final four. He is dynamic with time and space as a thrower, but is also a threat with his legs. He rushed for 537 yards and eight scores last season.

Chambliss’ only season in Division I was last year, so he is also relatively inexperienced. And there is also a chance that all this is moot if he ends up returning for one more year at Ole Miss.

Garrett Nussmeier (QB – LSU)

In 2024, Garrett Nussmeier threw for 4,052 yards and 29 touchdowns, so expectations were through the roof for 2025. But he threw just 1,927 yards and 12 touchdowns in nine games after battling injuries. We know he has big-play ability and is among the best at getting his receivers the ball, but there are a lot of question marks here.

Obviously, the injuries are a concern, as is the fact that Nussmeier became a glorified game manager with a struggling LSU offense last season. Which is the real Nussmeier? Some will take a chance in the middle rounds to find out.

Carson Beck (QB – Miami)

Carson Beck was once considered a top quarterback pick, but he had a disappointing 2024, which prompted a transfer to Miami, where he earned another trip to the College Football Playoff National Championship. He threw for 3,813 yards and 30 touchdowns at Miami in a bounce-back season.

Beck faced the lowest pressure rate in FBS, so it remains to be seen how he reacts when he faces NFL pressure. He likely starts his career as a backup, learning from an experienced NFL quarterback before taking over a team.

Drew Allar (QB – Penn State)

Drew Allar played in 45 college games, so experience is not a problem heading into the draft. His biggest problem is inconsistency. He saw a big leap from his sophomore to junior season, and was thought to be a big-time prospect heading into 2025. But in that season, he broke his ankle and finished with just 1,100 yards and eight touchdowns.

Allar looks like a prototypical quarterback (6-foot-5, 235 pounds), but he struggles to hit open receivers and get them the ball in the right locations. With a broken ankle in his most recent season, he will have a lot to prove for whichever team takes a chance on him.

Cade Klubnik (QB – Clemson)

Cade Klubink was number one on plenty of draft boards ahead of the 2025 season, but saw his stock plummet with just 16 touchdowns, six interceptions and fewer than 3,000 passing yards. Like many other quarterbacks, Klubnik was extremely up and down this season, which was disappointing considering the offensive line and weapons that returned for Clemson in 2025.

Klubnik finished with just a 48.5% accuracy rate under pressure, which does not bode well for a high draft position. But he has flashed signs in 2023 and 2024, so his workouts and testing could go a long way towards where he gets drafted.

Taylen Green (QB – Arkansas)

If you’re looking for a mobile quarterback who can dominate other teams with his legs just as much as his arm, Taylen Green may be your guy. He finished 2025 with 771 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns to go along with 2,714 passing yards and 19 passing scores. At 6-foot-6 and 224 pounds, Green has the size and athleticism to make a difference in the NFL.

Green is another quarterback who struggled under pressure, completing only 39% of his passes in those situations. Green is somewhat raw, but has explosive upside for a Day 3 pick.

Sawyer Robertson (QB – Baylor)

Sawyer Robertson was under the radar as one of the best passing quarterbacks in 2025. He finished the season with 3,681 yards and 31 touchdowns, and it was his second straight season with more than 3,ooo yards. He is an accurate deep-ball thrower and made the most out of average weapons at his disposal.

Robertson had 12 interceptions this year, and his decision-making was often questionable, especially late in the game. Six of his interceptions were thrown in the fourth quarter this season.

Cole Payton (QB – North Dakota State)

Cole Payton is the latest dual-threat quarterback to come out of North Dakota State (Trey Lance, anyone?). Payton had 16 passing touchdowns and 3,188 passing yards, with 13 rushing touchdowns. Because he has so much size and agility, there are rumors that Payton might experiment with other positions before the draft.

Payton suffered a broken thumb in the FCS playoffs, but hopes to be fully healed by the draft. His stock may depend on that injury and how he chooses to adapt to different positions for teams that express interest in him during the pre-draft process.
