Fantasy Basketball Trade Advice (Week 13)
Trade For
Alperen Sengun (C, PF – HOU)
Since the beginning of December, Alperen Sengun has battled an illness and injuries to his calf and ankle. Consequently, the Houston big man hasn’t posted a fantasy outing of at least 50 points since December 18th.
This lessened production has meant a bigger role for Amen Thompson, who’s enjoyed a fantastic two-month stretch. However, a healthy Sengun is the better scorer, rebounder and playmaker.
Trust that as Sengun puts these minor ailments behind him, he’ll begin to return to his earlier form.

Anthony Black (PG, SG, SF – ORL)
Orlando’s win in Berlin on Thursday was the first time Paolo Banchero, Desmond Bane, Anthony Black and Franz Wagner played together since what feels like forever. All four scored in double figures.
When someone as talented and ball-dominant as Wagner returns to the lineup, changes to the offensive environment should be expected. Though it’s hard to say for certain, Black may be the odd one out.
Black has played in 16 games without Wagner this season, averaging 19.5 points, 5.2 assists, 4.4 rebounds and 14.9 attempts per game. In 25 games played with Wagner, those numbers all decrease to 13.5, 3.2 four and 10.5.

Trade For
Stephon Castle (PG, SG – SAS)
Since the Spurs finished runner-up to the Knicks in the NBA Cup, Stephon Castle’s numbers have taken a slight dip. Some of that probably has to do with Castle playing Oklahoma City (three times), Boston, Cleveland, Memphis, Minnesota and Portland in that time — all teams that rank in the top half of the league in defensive rating. De’Aaron Fox‘s production has waned over that stretch, too.
Castle isn’t an elite scorer, but he’s a solid rebounder and the lead playmaker on a team with Victor Wembanyama. Better days are ahead.

Trade Away
Jalen Williams (C, PF, SF, SG – OKC)
Because of two offseason wrist surgeries, the current version of Jalen Williams may be the best we’ll get all year from a fantasy perspective.
Despite posting a career-high in assists per game, Williams is averaging 13.4% fewer fantasy points than last season. The biggest reason is his near-complete inability to shoot and make threes.
Over his last 10 games, Williams is barely shooting two per game and is hitting 15% of them. Williams shot nearly five threes per game last season at a 36.5% clip.
With the Thunder being so dominant without Williams, it wouldn’t come as a shock to see him play fewer minutes or miss games altogether as a means of getting healthy for the postseason.
