We will be running a fantasy baseball mock draft using FantasyPros’ Draft Wizard tool.
We’ll draft for a 12-team, head-to-head points league with the following positions: 1-C, 1-1B, 1-2B, 1-3B, 1-SS, 3-OF, 1-UTIL, 6-Pitchers and three bench spots. I’m drafting from the six hole.

2026 Fantasy Baseball Mock Draft
1.06: Ronald Acuna (OF – ATL)
I was between Ronald Acuna and Tarik Skubal with this selection. With the depth of starting pitchers in the middle rounds this year, I opted to go with the hitter in the first round.
2.07: Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (1B – TOR)
3.06: Yordan Alvarez (OF – HOU)
I usually don’t go three rounds without a starting pitcher in points leagues, but I tried it out here, grabbing Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Yordan Alvarez.
4.07: Cole Ragans (SP – KC)
5.06: Jacob deGrom (SP – TEX)
I drafted my first two starting pitchers in Cole Ragans and Jacob deGrom.
Ragans is one of my favorite targets in the third/fourth round range as a top bounce-back candidate.
Jacob deGrom was named the 2025 American League Comeback Player of the Year after posting a stifling 2.97 ERA across 172.2 innings. He was the SP15. When healthy (with that risk being baked into his draft value), he still holds top-10 upside.
6.07: Austin Riley (3B – ATL)
Another prime bounce-back candidate after missing a good part of last season, Austin Riley is another value pick I like in the middle rounds this year.
7.06: Framber Valdez (SP – DET)
8.07: Eury Perez (SP – MIA)
Framber Valdez recently landed in Detroit, which could be the perfect ballpark to fit his pitching style. He lands with a steady infield defense that should also help him as a groundball pitcher.
We saw flashes of the upside Eury Perez holds late last season after making a change in his windup. He’ll look to pick up where he left off last year.
9.06: Jose Altuve (2B – HOU)
10.07: Trevor Story (SS – BOS)
Trevor Story is coming off logging a full season for the first time since 2021. He launched 25 home runs and recorded a career-high 31 stolen bases. He can remain a steady target in this range if he can stay healthy with power and speed upside.
11.06: Brandon Nimmo (OF – TEX)
12.07: Luis Castillo (SP – SEA)
13.06: Jacob Wilson (SS – ATH)
14.07: Pete Fairbanks (RP – MIA)
I usually focus on starters more than relievers in points leagues. I only drafted one here in Peter Fairbanks to find another closer or two off the waiver wire at some point during the season.
15.06: Edward Cabrera (SP – CHC)
16.07: Shane McClanahan (SP – TB)
17.06: Bryce Miller (SP – SEA)
After battling injuries in the regular season last season, which led to his struggles, Bryce Miller turned a corner in the postseason, posting a 2.45 ERA in three starts. He’ll remain a steady starter at the end of the Mariners’ rotation.
18.07: Kyle Teel (C – CWS)
I have said before that I usually punt the catcher position, and that’s what I did here. Kyle Teel showed flashes in the games he played last season, and he should see plenty of opportunity heading into this season for a rebuilding White Sox team.
Draft Wizard Insights
I received a B+ grade (88/100). I liked this mock draft quite a bit, and the Draft Wizard generally agreed.
If I could go back, I likely would have attempted to draft one more closer sooner. I continue to heavily attack starting pitchers in the middle rounds, while waiting on the catcher position.
