Fantasy Baseball Mock Draft: 12-Team, Late Pick (2026)

Fantasy Baseball Mock Draft: 12-Team, Late Pick (2026)
We will be running a fantasy baseball mock draft using FantasyPros’ Draft Wizard tool. We are officially into the month of March with the season now just under a few weeks away. We’ll draft for a 12-team league with the following positions: 1-C, 1-1B, 1-2B, 1-3B, 1-SS, 3-OF, 1-UTIL, 6-Pitchers and three bench spots. I’m drafting from the 11-slot. You can find the draft board here.

1.11: Fernando Tatis Jr. (OF – SD)

2.02: Kyle Tucker (OF – LAD)

I opened the draft selecting back-to-back outfielders out of the NL West. I also considered Garrett Crochet, Junior Caminero, Corbin Carroll, and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. at this turn.

3.11: Bryan Woo (SP – SEA)

I selected my SP1 here. We saw Woo breakout last season in a year where he stayed healthy, and I’m not even sure that was a true breakout season relative to his true ceiling. I’m expecting him to be in Cy Young talks by the end of this season.

4.02: Bryce Harper (1B – PHI)

I was eyeing another starting pitcher here in Cole Ragans, but I tend to draft the same players too many times in these mocks, so I elected to go a different route here in Harper.

5.11: George Kirby (SP – SEA)

I don’t love having my SP1 and SP2 being on the same team, but I couldn’t pass on the value of Kirby here. He got off to a slow start last season following an injury, before he ended the year strong, and he’ll be fully healthy entering this season.

6.02: Austin Riley (3B – ATL)

In most mocks, I have waited too long at 3B despite the position not being super deep. I didn’t make that same mistake here with a bounce-back candidate in Riley.

7.11: Corey Seager (SS – TEX)

I can’t pass up the upside of Seager this late. There is clear injury risk, but that’s baked into him falling this late. When healthy, he still holds elite upside.

8.02: Christian Yelich (OF – MIL)

After going with the upside of Tatis and Tucker in my outfield, I closed out my starting outfield with the steadiness of Yelich.

9.11: Spencer Strider (SP – ATL)

10.02: Chase Burns (SP – CIN)

11.11: Sandy Alcantara (SP – MIA)

After drafting just two starting pitchers in eight rounds, I attacked that position with three straight picks here. In Strider’s latest spring outing, he tossed four shutout innings with five strikeouts. I’m expecting his ADP to only continue to rise. Burns reached the majors last season after just 13 minor league starts. There is still some risk with how young he is and how erratic he can be on the mound at times, but with a full offseason to work on his stuff, he holds elite upside. Alcantara is currently pitching for the Dominican Republic in the World Baseball Classic. In his latest start against Venezuela on Wednesday, he showed flashes of his elite stuff but also struggled at times. He is one of my favorite targets this late in drafts.

12.02: Ceddanne Rafaela (2B – BOS)

13.11: Emilio Pagan (RP – CIN)

14.02: Yandy Diaz (1B – TB)

15.11: Ryan Walker (RP – SF)

I continue to punt on closers/relievers in drafts, selecting Pagan and Walker late. It is the position I tend to always find on the waiver wire throughout the season as many closer situations change.

16.02: Andrew Abbott (SP – CIN)

17.11: Shane McClanahan (SP – TB)

18.02: Samuel Basallo (C – BAL)

Draft Wizard Insights

I received a B grade (83/100) from this mock draft. I liked the balance I was able to land across the board here — both hitter and pitcher wise. I do plan on continuing to attack the third base position earlier than later given the scarcity of the position. The closer and catcher positions are the two I continue to punt in every draft.
