Fantasy Baseball Prospects to Stash: Week 8 (2026)

Fantasy Baseball Prospects to Stash: Week 8 (2026)

We finally saw Colt Emerson get the call; he was the lone promotion from last week’s fantasy baseball prospects stash list. This week brings a mix of new names, updates and a few players you should strongly consider moving on from.

The first five players below were on last week’s list, but based on recent performance, I recommend hitting the brakes on them for now.

Fantasy Baseball Prospects to Stash

Fantasy Baseball Prospects to Put on Hold

Emmanuel Rodriguez (OF – MIN) – Top 100 Prospect Ranking: 54

  • Current Level: Triple‑A
  • ETA: July/August

Emmanuel Rodriguez’s thumb injury turned out to be far more serious than expected. He underwent surgery and still has no clear recovery timeline. The talent is undeniable, but this stash now requires patience that most fantasy managers can’t afford.

Ryan Clifford (1B – NYM) | Top 100 Prospect Ranking: Unranked

  • Current Level: Triple-A
  • ETA: July

Ryan Clifford nearly went hitless last week and is now sitting on 14 strikeouts in his last 30 at‑bats with only three walks. Until he shows signs of life, he’s an easy pass.

Nestor German (SP – BAL) | Top 100 Prospect Ranking: Unranked

  • Current Level: Triple-A
  • ETA: Late-June

I thought Nestor German might pitch his way into Baltimore’s rotation conversation, but his latest outing (four innings, five earned runs, two walks, four strikeouts) slammed the brakes on that idea.

German will need multiple rebound starts before he’s stash‑worthy again.

David Davalillo (SP – TEX) | Top 100 Prospect Ranking: Unranked

  • Current Level: Double-A
  • ETA: August

David Davalillo, already on the 40‑man, made his Triple‑A debut, and it was rough: 4.1 innings, six earned runs, five walks and four hit batters.

That’s not just a bad start; that’s a red flag. Davalillo will need to dig himself out of the basement before re-entering stash territory.

Josh Stephan (SP – TEX) | Top 100 Prospect Ranking: Unranked

  • Current Level: Triple-A
  • ETA: June

Josh Stephan wasn’t terrible in his last start — 5.2 innings, two earned runs, one walk — but zero strikeouts is a major disappointment after racking up 20 punchouts in his previous 11 innings.

The inconsistency makes Stephan a wait-and-see option rather than a stash.

Fantasy Baseball Prospects Worth Stashing

Cooper Ingle (C – CLE) | Top 100 Prospect Ranking: 87

  • Current Level: Triple-A
  • ETA: Late-May/Early June

Cooper Ingle keeps hitting. Over his last 10 games, he’s posted a .359 batting average with three home runs, and the bat looks MLB-ready. The Guardians’ acquisition of Patrick Bailey raised questions, and Cleveland appears content to let Ingle get more Triple‑A reps, especially defensively.

Bailey and Austin Hedges have three combined hits in their last 10 games, so the door is wide open. If you need a catcher and can wait, Ingle remains a strong stash.

Luis Lara (OF – MIL) | Top 100 Prospect Ranking: Unranked

  • Current Level: Triple-A
  • ETA: July

Luis Lara’s hot start continues: .368 batting average, five multi‑hit outings in his last 10 games and five steals. He hasn’t shown power recently, but at 21, it could still develop.

Lara’s path to Milwaukee is blocked unless an injury opens a spot. Although Sal Frelick’s ongoing struggles could create an opportunity. Lara’s contact, speed and defense make him a likely 2026 debut

Edwin Arroyo (SS – CIN) | Top 100 Prospect Ranking: Unranked

  • Current Level: Triple-A
  • ETA: June

Edwin Arroyo is scorching: .500 batting average, five home runs, three stolen bases and only three strikeouts in his last 10 games. His season line — .348 batting average, 1.012 OPS and nine home runs — demands attention.

Arroyo doesn’t have a clear everyday role yet, but being on the 40‑man roster gives him a major advantage. If he keeps hitting like this, Cincinnati will find a way to get his bat in the lineup. Arroyo is one of the most likely candidates to be promoted next.

Jonah Tong (SP – NYM) | Top 100 Prospect Ranking: 40

  • Current Level: Triple-A
  • ETA: May/June

With Clay Holmes out until mid‑August, Jonah Tong looked like a near lock for a promotion. However, he’s been leapfrogged by Zach Thornton and continues to struggle, including his last brutal outing, where he allowed six earned runs and three walks over 1.2 innings.

Tong likely needs another month of strong outings to regain the Mets’ trust. Monitor him, but skepticism is warranted.

Cole Carrigg (OF – COL) | Top 100 Prospect Ranking: Unranked

  • Current Level: Triple-A
  • ETA: June

Cole Carrigg is quietly putting together a breakout season: .355 batting average, .953 OPS, four home runs and 26 stolen bases in 42 games. He has more steals than strikeouts.

Carrigg’s strikeout rate has dropped from 27% to 14% in Triple-A this season, and he’s an above‑average defender with a big‑league arm.

Colorado moves its prospects slowly and strangely, but Carrigg is forcing the issue. He’s especially valuable in deeper five-outfielder leagues or for managers desperate for steals.

Additional Fantasy Baseball Prospects to Consider

Riley Cornelio (SP – WSH) | Top 100 Prospect Ranking: Unranked

  • Current Level: Triple-A
  • ETA: June

Riley Cornelio made a brief MLB appearance, throwing two innings, and allowed two earned runs and four walks. His Triple‑A numbers are far more promising: 52 strikeouts and a 3.11 ERA in 37 innings.

Deep‑league managers should keep Cornelio on the radar for Washington’s next call‑up.

Carson Whisenhunt (SP – SFG) | Top 100 Prospect Ranking: Unranked

  • Current Level: Triple-A
  • ETA: June

Once considered one of the Giants’ top pitching prospects, Carson Whisenhunt struggled early but has rebounded with 11 strikeouts in 11.1 innings over his last two starts, while allowing just two earned runs.

Whisenhunt needs a few more strong outings, but he’s trending in the right direction.

Jacob Gonzalez (SS – CWS) | Top 100 Prospect Ranking: Unranked

  • Current Level: Triple-A
  • ETA: June

Another White Sox infielder is making noise. Jacob Gonzalez is hitting .305 with a 1.065 OPS, 15 home runs and seven stolen bases on the season. Over his last 10 games, he’s hitting .359 with six homers.

Gonzalez is a deep‑league stash for now, but the numbers are impossible to ignore. If you need infield help, Gonzalez should be on your radar.
