Rostered Two-Start Pitchers
Here are the pitchers with two starts in Week 9 who are pretty universally rostered (>80%).
- Chris Sale (SP – ATL): 99% | @ BOS; @ CIN
- Cam Schlittler (SP – NYY): 98% | @ KCR; @ ATH
- Jacob Misiorowski (SP – MIL): 97% | vs. STL; @ HOU
- Joe Ryan (SP – MIN): 95% | @ CWS; @ PIT
- Chase Burns (SP – CIN): 94% | @ NYM; vs. ATL
- Jesus Luzardo (SP – PHI): 90% | @ SDP; @ LAD
Two-Start Rostered Pitchers Notes
- Chris Sale gets a two-start week against the Red Sox and Reds. The Cincinnati Reds strike out the third-most against left-handed pitchers, and Sale’s strikeout rate is in the 89th percentile.
- Joe Ryan‘s double start is against the White Sox and Pirates. The Pirates are middling in terms of strikeout rate against righties. However, the White Sox have the second-worst mark in the league. Ryan’s strikeout rate is currently the lowest of his career (24.9%).
- Chase Burns gets a solid matchup against the Mets before facing the red-hot Braves. He’s been dominant this season regardless of the matchup.
- Jesus Luzardo has been wildly inconsistent this season, and his two matchups reflect that. His first matchup is against the Padres, who have the second-worst wOBA against lefties. He then gets a matchup with the Dodgers, who have the second-best wOBA against lefties.

Two Start Streamer Options Notes
- Kris Bubic faces the Yankees and the Rangers. The Rangers are one of the worst teams in the league against left-handed pitchers. They rank dead last in wOBA and second-worst in strikeout rate against southpaws. The Yankees, on the other hand, rank in the top five in wOBA against lefties.
- Jared Jones is making his way back from Tommy John surgery and lines up for two starts in Week 9. I would almost guarantee that he won’t make both starts. The Pirates have seven games this week, so they could stick with a six-man rotation. If someone needs to be removed from the rotation to make room, Bubba Chandler would make a lot of sense.
- Tatsuya Imai returned from the injured list (IL) and continued with the same struggles he had before the injury. He can’t be trusted regardless of the matchups.
- Clay Holmes was placed on the IL, and according to FanGraphs, Zachary Thornton is going to be called up to fill his rotation spot. In 31 Triple-A innings, he’s posted a 3.77 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 9.0 K/9 across six starts.
