Parker Messick is having an outstanding sophomore follow-up to an impressive seven starts in his 2025 MLB debut. According to FanGraphs, the 25-year-old lefty has the following stats in 16 starts spanning 94.1 innings this year:

Messick’s matchup is mixed, but his betting info is pristine. The Rangers are tied for 10th in wRC+ (99) with a 25.8% strikeout rate versus lefties and fourth in wRC+ (106) with a 22.9% strikeout rate on the road in 2026.
However, Texas ranks 28th in wRC+ (79) and has a 22% strikeout rate over the previous 30 days. The Guardians are -150 favorites, and the game’s total is a pitcher-friendly 7.5 runs.
Robert Gasser is in good form entering tonight’s start. In his previous four starts, totaling 21.2 innings, the lefty has amassed the following numbers:

Gasser’s matchup and betting info are decent. The Reds are seventh in wRC+ (106) with a 24.7% strikeout rate versus lefties and tied for 19th in wRC+ (93) with a 24.1% strikeout rate on the road. Cincinnati is also 20th in wRC+ (91) with a 23.8% strikeout rate in the previous 30 days. The Brewers are -155 favorites, and the game’s total is 8.5 runs.
George Kirby is a rock-solid pitcher at home. In 120 innings at home since last SEASON, the righty has a 3.90 ERA, 3.41 xFIP, 1.18 WHIP, 6.1% walk rate and 24.6% strikeout rate. Kirby has twirled three straight quality starts, tossing precisely six innings in each and striking out 20 batters in those 18 innings.
Kirby’s matchup has a mix of favorable and unfavorable splits, but the betting info is tantalizing. The Angels are tied for 19th in wRC+ (99) with a 25% strikeout rate versus righties, but rank second in wRC+ (114) with a 24.6% strikeout rate on the road this season.
Los Angeles was 29th in wRC+ (76) with a 31% strikeout rate in the previous 30 days. The Mariners are -220 favorites, and the game’s total is 7.5 runs.
Suggested Lineup Stacks
It will be hot tonight, and the wind will be ripping out to the outfield, creating drool-inducing hitting conditions at Wrigley Field. They should also get a lift from the pitching matchup, as RosterResource projects Griffin Canning to get the ball.
Canning has a putrid 7.38 ERA, 5.19 xERA, 4.50 xFIP and 4.69 SIERA in 10 appearances (eight starts) in 2026. Chicago’s left-handed batters and switch-hitters are the most appealing stacking options since Canning has coughed up an eye-popping .428 wOBA to 119 left-handed batters while holding righties to a .278 wOBA.
Eric Lauer‘s 4.87 ERA is a number gamers could get excited about stacking against. However, the lefty’s 5.34 xERA, 5.35 xFIP and 5.24 SIERA are even more tantalizing to stack against.
The 31-year-old lefty has allowed a .309 wOBA to 223 right-handed batters and a .437 wOBA to 48 left-handed batters this season, making all hitters for the Athletics viable stacking options.

- Ian Happ has hit 49 home runs with a .358 OBP, .213 ISO, .355 wOBA and 130 wRC+ in 1,225 plate appearances against right-handed pitching since 2024.
Value Plays/Punts
- Henry Bolte has drilled two dingers with a .404 OBP, .407 wOBA and 159 wRC+ in his first 48 plate appearances against lefties in the Majors.
- Brooks Lee is raking with the platoon advantage and on the road this season. He has hit 11 homers with a .315 OBP, .235 ISO, .350 wOBA and 122 wRC+ in 216 plate appearances against righties and smacked nine homers with a .366 OBP, .279 ISO, .408 wOBA and 162 wRC+ in 154 plate appearances on the road in 2026.
- Caleb Durbin is dialed in. In 57 plate appearances from June 10th through June 27th, he hit five homers with 11 runs, nine RBI, two stolen bases, a .386 OBP, .358 ISO, .462 wOBA and 195 wRC+. Last night, Durbin had a hit, one run, two RBI and two stolen bases.

Nick Kurtz has gone from a below-average hitter against lefties as a rookie to a thorn in their side in his sophomore season. Kurtz has 29 hits, including six homers, with a .271 batting average, .376 OBP, .196 ISO, .370 wOBA and 133 wRC+ in 125 plate appearances against southpaws this season.
Yordan Alvarez is having a massive year at the plate. In 84 games and 366 plate appearances, Alvarez has ripped off 53 singles, 16 doubles, 25 homers, a .311 batting average, .613 slugging rate and .301 ISO.
Parker Messick has a juicy 26.2% strikeout rate in 64.2 innings at home since last season. Moreover, Messick has cleared 5.5 batters in back-to-back starts and in 10 out of 16 outings this season.
