Two-Start Rostered Pitchers Notes
- Chris Sale has been excellent once again in 2026. He has a 2.23 ERA, 1.03 WHIP, 10.6 K/9 and eight wins in 12 starts. His two-start week comes against the Giants and Brewers, both of whom are in the bottom-10 in wOBA against southpaws.
- Dylan Cease is expected to return to the rotation from his hamstring injury soon. He returns to action with a 3.03 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, 13.3 K/9 and three wins over 11 starts. The Red Sox struggle against righties, while the Cubs have fared well against them.
- Zack Wheeler returned from a major injury and looks mostly like himself again. In eight starts, he’s 5-1 with a 2.31 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and 8.5 K/9. His strikeout rate is lower than we’re used to, but he’s had three eight-strikeout performances, showing he’s still got some gas left in the tank.

Two Start Streamer Notes
- Edward Cabrera returned from the injured list (IL) and gets the Rockies and Blue Jays in his two-start week. The Rockies outside of Coors Field are always a good matchup. However, the Blue Jays have the lowest strikeout rate against righties, and they don’t walk that often. Cabrera’s strikeout rate is the lowest of his career, and he’s struggled to limit damage.
- Jared Jones has made two starts in his return to action, and the results have been mixed. Over 9.1 innings, he’s allowed five runs on 11 hits and four walks, but also picked up 10 punchouts. Jones’ fastball is averaging 99 miles per hour (mph), up two MPH from 2024, and his slider (1.3 MPH) and change-up (3.6 MPH) are up as well. He’s going to have to shake off some rust, but it’s good to see that he’s physically OK.
