Another week has come and gone, and it is time to look ahead to the upcoming fantasy baseball matchup. I will continue to be here every week this season to give you suggestions on what pitchers you should stream to win your matchups. I will be using the FantasyPros fantasy baseball streaming pitchers rankings to help determine my picks. Week 17 Fantasy Baseball Streaming Pitchers
Also, please keep in mind that starters can get off schedule, and some projected starters can be pushed back due to circumstances such as injury and weather.
First, let’s take a look at last week’s picks:

So far, pretty good. Zac Thornton and Brandon Pfaadt impressed last week, while Christian Scott struggled and Spencer Arrighetti became injured. I am optimistic for Kyle Leahy and Ronel Blanco‘s starts. The waivers are drier at this point in the season. Let’s aim for more solid performances and diamonds in the rough.
Monday, July 27
Bubba Chandler (SP – PIT) vs. ARI | 20% Rostered
I am a pretty big Bubba Chandler believer this week. When he has his walks under control, Chandler is a great pitcher. The 23-year-old flame-thrower leads the league with 56 walks. He has not made a single start without walking one batter. Still, the young pitcher is finding some recent success.
Last week the righty shut out the Yankees across 6.1 innings, walking only one batter. This quality start was perhaps the best of his season and reflects the improved ERA of 3.86 Chandler has had since mid-June, lowering his season total to an ERA of 4.47.
Chandler is facing the Diamondbacks, who walk slightly less than the average MLB team in 2026 with 345 walks. Their team OPS of .706 is in the bottom third of the league. Although I understand being afraid to pick up Chandler, he looks like a good option for Monday.

Tuesday, July 28
Seth Lugo (SP – KC) @MIN | 23% Rostered
Oh, what to do about Seth Lugo? On one hand, the 36-year-old is having a down year and looks to be past his glory days. On the other hand, he has decent streaming potential against average and below-average offenses. The Twins happen to have an average offense and happen to be a solid option for Seth Lugo.
The veteran righty is amid a two-game resurgence. His two most recent outings, against the Giants and Padres, were quality starts that combined for 13.0 innings with a total of four runs allowed. He has looked sharper, completing both in under 95 pitches.
Lugo does not have swing-and-miss stuff. He has decent control and is a solid option for a Tuesday without many streaming matchups.

Wednesday, July 29
Gabriel Hughes (SP – COL) @SDP | 1% Rostered
Gabriel Hughes is the speculative stream of the week. The Rockies prospect has 19 strikeouts in his first 19.1 innings in the majors, scattering six runs across four appearances.
The 24-year-old righty has enticing strikeout stuff. If his K/9 ratio stays at around nine, we could have an intriguing sleeper on our hands. For the meantime, Hughes remains a streaming option due to his home field being Coors.
Hughes is facing the Padres, who have the fifth-worst OPS in baseball and have been struggling offensively all year. Consider streaming the rookie for the easy matchup.

Thursday, July 30
Noah Cameron (SP – KC) @MIN | 11% Rostered
Noah Cameron is coming off an absolutely dominant outing as a bulk reliever. He threw 7.0 shutout innings against the Tigers, striking out eight. He went toe-to-toe with Tarik Skubal. This is the best we have seen of the 27-year-old lefty since last year.
Unfortunately, Cameron allowed seven runs in his prior start. He has been very off-and-on this year, which causes me not to love Cameron among a weak Thursday selection.
The Twins have about average hitting stats. Cameron has combined for 11.0 innings with four runs allowed and 12 strikeouts against them this season. If you feel like taking a risk, bet on Cameron continuing this success.

Friday, July 31
Robert Gasser (SP – MIL) @LAA | 9% Rostered
Robert Gasser is finding a groove. Since mid-June, the 27-year-old has an ERA of 3.92 with 33 strikeouts across 39.0 innings. His xERA (3.85) is almost a full run lower than his actual ERA (4.71).
Gasser has been demonstrating his efficiency lately. The southpaw just shut out the Rockies across six innings in only 77 pitches. I know, it’s the Rockies, but it counts for something, right?
Look for Gasser to continue his efficiency against the 41-64 Angels, whose .703 team OPS ranks among the worst in the league.

Saturday, August 1
Zac Thornton (SP – NYM) vs. MIA | 13% Rostered
How about Zac Thornton? He has ripped three consecutive quality starts since getting another shot at the majors in late June. Since his call, the 24-year-old has allowed only one run across 19.0 innings, striking out 14. If the lefty is available in your league, get him now.
The Mets prospect primarily throws a cutter, four-seamer, sweeper, and sinker. Specifically, his sweeper has a nice 34.8% whiff rate, but all of his pitches have been effective in the majors so far.
Although the Marlins team OPS ranks in the top third of teams, Thornton’s success against the Brewers, Red Sox, and Phillies shows that he can handle competent offenses.

Sunday, August 2
Keider Montero (SP – DET) @ATH | 13% Rostered
Keider Montero is a classic high-floor, low-ceiling option for Sunday to preserve your ratios. The 26-year-old has an ERA of 3.14 (3.38 xERA) and a spectacular 0.96 WHIP.
Montero is facing the Athletics, whose team OPS of .727 is about average. He will be playing the Athletics at home, which is a little scary. Montero has shown he can succeed in any environment, but I do not blame you if you pick other streams on this list.
The righty is not exactly electric. He has a 6.6 K/9 ratio this season. He does not always throw deep into ball games. Regardless, the innings Montero gives you will most likely be quality, and that is what we are looking for at the end of the week.
