Wednesday’s Starting Pitcher Rankings (7/29)
Cam Schlittler has been a monster on the road in a sensational 2026 campaign. According to FanGraphs, in 13 road starts spanning 83.1 innings, Schlittler has spun a 1.08 ERA, 2.67 xFIP, 0.76 WHIP, 5.1% walk rate and 31.5% strikeout rate.
Schlittler has allowed three earned runs or fewer in all of his road starts, allowing three in only one, and surrendering one or fewer in 11 of those turns. He’s also struck out at least five batters in all of his road starts, striking out at least six in 12 and at least seven in nine.
The White Sox aren’t a cushy matchup. They are tied for eighth in wRC+ (105) with a 23.2% strikeout rate versus righties and ninth in wRC+ (109) with a 22.2% strikeout rate at home in 2026. However, Chicago is tied for 22nd in wRC+ (93) with a 22.3% strikeout rate in the previous 30 days. Thus, the Yankees are -140 favorites, and the game’s total is 7.5 runs.
Chris Sale was supposed to start yesterday, but the game was postponed, and the Braves and Mets will play a doubleheader today. He was the headline starting pitcher in yesterday’s DFS piece, and he’s an exciting GPP pivot from Schlittler on DraftKings. Sale is locked in, recording the following numbers in his previous five starts, totaling 27 innings:

Sale’s matchup is decent tonight. The Mets are 13th in wRC+ (98) with a 22.4% strikeout rate versus lefties and tied for 15th in wRC+ (103) with a 21.7% strikeout rate at home this season. New York is seventh in wRC+ (113) with a 22.4% strikeout rate in the previous 30 days, but Juan Soto landed on the injured list (IL) on July 25th. Sale has a high ceiling that’s tailor-made for GPPs.
Hayden Wesneski will make his season debut for the Astros after opening the year on the IL while working his way back from Tommy John surgery. He’s pitched well on his rehab assignment, with one start in the complex league, one in Double-A and three in Triple-A. In three Triple-A starts spanning 13 innings, Wesneski logged the following numbers:

Wesneski fired 83 pitches in his final Triple-A start, setting the stage for a normal pitching workload tonight. He has a cushy matchup in his return to the Majors. The Angels are tied for 22nd in wRC+ (95) with a 24.7% strikeout rate versus righties and 30th in wRC+ (81) with a 25.7% strikeout rate at home this season. They are also 27th in wRC+ (81) with a 25% strikeout rate in the previous 30 days. Wesneski’s bargain salary, Triple-A performance and matchup make him a compelling SP2 in all game types on DraftKings.
Suggested Lineup Stacks
Jacob Lopez has had a rough year, spending time in the rotation, the bullpen and even in Triple-A. In his 13 starts for the A’s, he’s been rocked for a 6.11 ERA, 3.74 xERA, 6.11 xFIP, 5.75 SIERA and 1.64 WHIP. Furthermore, the lefty has a 7.62 ERA and 5.59 xFIP in 26 innings at home this season, allowing a .341 wOBA to 42 left-handed batters and a .365 wOBA to 81 right-handed batters at home in 2026.
Brady Singer has settled into a groove over his last five starts, with a 3.86 ERA, 3.78 xERA, 3.50 xFIP, 3.60 SIERA and 1.09 WHIP. There’s some risk to stacking the Guardians against Singer. Nevertheless, the veteran righty’s full-season numbers, which include a 4.53 ERA, 5.02 xERA, 4.31 xFIP and 4.33 SIERA, are more compelling to stack against. Moreover, all nine of Cleveland’s projected starters are left-handed batters or switch-hitters, and Singer has surrendered a .371 wOBA to 283 left-handed batters in 2026.

- Yordan Alvarez has belted 35 bombs with 74 runs, 80 RBI, one stolen base, a .435 on-base percentage (OBP), .322 ISO, .447 wOBA and 193 wRC+ in 469 plate appearances in 2026.
- Willson Contreras has drilled 22 dingers with 54 runs, 66 RBI, three stolen bases, a .390 OBP, .256 ISO, .400 wOBA and 155 wRC+ in 408 plate appearances this season.
- Chase DeLauter has mashed 11 taters with 37 runs, 51 RBI, five stolen bases, a .347 OBP, .162 ISO, .345 wOBA and 123 wRC+ in 380 plate appearances in his rookie campaign. He’s done his best work on the road.
Value Plays/Punts
- Andruw Monasterio has seven homers with a .332 OBP, .202 ISO, .338 wOBA and 116 wRC+ in 202 plate appearances against lefties since 2024.
- Steven Kwan has 21 homers with a .355 OBP, .119 ISO, .334 wOBA and 117 wRC+ in 1,130 plate appearances against righties since 2024.
- Connor Wong should be fresh after sitting last night. He has six homers with a .359 OBP, .130 ISO, .338 wOBA and 116 wRC+ in 247 plate appearances against southpaws since 2024.

As noted above, Cam Schlittler has been a strikeout machine on the road. He’s exceeded 7.5 strikeouts in seven out of 13 road tilts this year.
Steven Kwan (OF – CLE): 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs — Higher
Sadly, Steven Kwan has failed to exceed 1.5 combined hits + runs + RBIs in four straight games, including both games of yesterday’s doubleheader. Still, he went over that number in eight of his previous nine games, and he has a drool-inducing matchup against Brady Singer today.
Nick Kurtz (1B – ATH): 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs — Higher
Nick Kurtz has rattled off 90 hits, including 21 homers, with 62 runs, 69 RBIs, a .260 batting average, .398 OBP, .231 ISO, .383 wOBA and 145 wRC+ in 425 plate appearances this season. He’s also made strides against lefties this season.
