The NFL preseason has officially begun, which means fantasy football season is already underway. The time to plan out your draft strategy is now. The early rounds of the draft get a lot of attention, and you can certainly lose your league by screwing up the first 5 rounds, but nailing them is not enough to win your league. The difference between a merely good fantasy team and a league-winner is further down the roster, so it’s worth having a plan for how you’re going to draft in the 12th round. But when you’re starting at a list of WR3s and running backs that might not even have much of a role yet, who do you take?
Most Accurate Expert Picks in 2025: Fantasy Football Sleepers
That question is why we started our fantasy football sleeper accuracy contest. In addition to traditional draft rankings, we ask experts to highlight a set of lower-ranked players that they recommend targeting, and we aggregate those into fantasy football sleeper rankings. Today we look back on last year’s sleeper rankings to see which experts had the best foresight. Each expert submits the following:
- 2 Quarterbacks outside the top 15
- 4 Running Backs outside the top 45
- 4 Wide Receivers outside the top 55
- 2 Tight Ends outside the top 15
- 1 Team Defense outside the top 10
We score these picks based on the chosen players’ performances in half-PPR results for the whole season, and give bonus points for ranking players higher within their position. For the full details, check out our sleeper accuracy FAQ.

Congratulations to Jacob Dunne of Fantrax for being 2025’s most accurate expert for sleeper picks! While most of the top performers had 2 good picks at QB and 4+ hits at WR/RB/TE, Dunne set himself apart by selecting the Seahawks defense, the best possible D/ST pick. He was one of only four experts out of a field of 44 to do so. He also excelled at WR, where he was one of only two experts to pick three different wide receivers that yielded a positive result.
Our second-place winner is Muntradamus of Beast Dome! Muntradamus was the #1 expert at WR – with Romeo Doubs and Keenan Allen, he was the only expert to pick two different WRs that outperformed a replacement-level player by at least 40 half-PPR points. Third place goes to Dalton Del Don of The Deep Shot! He was the only expert to obtain a top-5 score at both QB and RB, which made him the highest-ranked expert to hit on both TE picks with Tyler Warren and Hunter Henry.
