Max Scherzer fans nine in the victory vs NYM
by Nicolas Wilcox | Mon, Apr 24th 11:14am EDT
Max Scherzer earned his third victory of the season on Sunday night, limiting the Mets to three runs on five hits over his eight frames.
Fantasy Impact:
The reigning National League Cy Young award winner racked up nine strikeouts on the night while walking only one. We all know Mad Max allows a homerun every once in awhile so Michael Conforto's leadoff homer wasn't a surprise. Neil Walker would add a two-run blast in the third. After this, however, he was in complete control retiring the final 16 hitters he faced. Scherzer now sports a fantastic 1.98 ERA, 0.84 WHIP and 33/8 K/BB ratio across 27 1/3 innings. He'll do battle against the Mets again his next time out at home on Friday.
