Alex Meyer struggles with control, allows just one hit

by Zahjyee Whineglass | Thu, Jun 29th 12:22pm EDT

Alex Meyer dealt six scoreless innings while giving up just one hit against the Dodgers on Wednesday. He also walked five batters and retired just four via strikeout.

Fantasy Impact:

His lack of control continues to be a glaring weakness in his game, but he found a way to work around it on Wendesday. Despite allowing five free-passes, he put out six innings of clean-ball. The towering rookie looked a bit out of sorts against the boiling hot Dodgers, but if he can manage to locate the plate more consistently he will be a serious contributor to the club. Keep tabs on him until be begins to blossom, but until then he's not much more than a fantasy spot-start.
