Cubs re-sign Chris Valaika

Chicago Cubs have re-signed infielder Chris Valaika to a minor league contract. Valaika will be invited to spring training and have a chance at making the squad as a utility infielder. Valaika batted .231 with 3 home runs and 13 RBIs in 44 games with the Cubs in 2014. (Baseball America)
Fantasy Impact:
Valaika played all four infield positions after being called up from Triple A on August 2, but was used primarily at First and Second base. The Cubs plan to use Tommy La Stella as the utility infielder this season, so Valaika will be competing with Mike Olt as the backup to Third baseman Luis Valbuena. Even if Valaika makes the big league roster, he does not have any fantasy value.
