Astros are one of a few teams talking with Jose Veras

Evan Drellich of the Houston Chronicle reports that the Astros have been in talks with former closer Jose Veras on a possible return to the club. (MLBTraderumors.com)
Fantasy Impact:
Veras started 2014 with the Chicago Cubs, but his 8.10 ERA in 12 games resulted in his release. He eventually signed on with the Astros, recording a 4-0 record with a respectable 3.03 ERA. Signing Veras will not make many headlines, but he gives the Astros an experienced arm in their bullpen. As long as Chad Qualls remains in Houston as their closer, Veras offers little fantasy value heading into 2015.
