Chad Bettis officially retires from baseball. “Today I am walking away from the game with my head held high, knowing that I pushed my body as far as I could physically,” said Bettis. (Nick Groke on Twitter )

Bettis signed with the Yankees to a minor league deal this off-season, but ultimately decided to retire. Bettis walks away from the game, owning a (31-31) record, 5.12 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and a 431:210 K:BB across 600 2/3 innings in seven seasons for the Rockies.
